Today's the Day

At 7:00 p.m. tonight,
graduation will begin.
By 9:00 p.m.,
the doors will close
on the past 12 years.

From the day she was born,
I've called her my rose.
Beautiful, sweet and at times,
full of thorns.
I love her.
I'm proud of her.
All that know her speak
of her kind heart.

I leave you with her latest self portrait.

Wondering what the future will bring.

And we thank you
for all of your well wishes
and congratulations.

Congratulations Becky! Your future holds promises of a wonderful life! Congratulations Jill...speaking from the point of view of a momma who has a daughter who graduated a few days ago...it's a pretty big accomplishment walking along side of these girls for 12 years through school. We walk beside them trying to make sure they know we are there to offer our love and support, yet we try to stay at a distance so they learn how to do it on their own (while in our hearts, we hold their hand)

Hugs my friend!

Dear Becky and Jill,

Becky, as Mom will tell you, this is the fun part, next starts your grown up life. We all face it, some of us are shy (get over it quickly!), some of us outlandish (get over that even faster!!!) and some of us just put our walking shoes on and get the next bit of walking done on the road of life.

You will have many, many days of laughter, and a few with tears (remember the laughter on these days!) Always remember, each day is different, and each day is the same. It's up to you how much you grow. You're not too old to go ask mom a 'how to' question, in fact, if you learned anything in high school, it should be if you don't know, find an expert to ask. Asking a question means you have finally learned that you don't know everything and none of us do. We all learned more little by little each day from people who have already taken the road. No need to stumble in the some hole we did if you can ask where those pot holes are. Mom knows you best and can help you the most. She's the one, that no matter what day, the time, or the place, she will be there for you!

Jill, you've done a marvelous job of raising two children and helping them through the toughest part of life. Now it's time for them to fly a bit! They always come back to the nest, don't they? Now it's time for you to take a bow and see what a cute young girl you've helped become a beautiful young woman.

Congratulations to you both!

Hugs,
Donna
