Last week, I turned
This means I have now been
blogging for a year.
I began my blog when
I turned 52.
I thought it might be a way
for me to push myself
out of my comfort zone.
Not just by blogging
but by chronicling
my attempts to do things
out of my ordinary,
Here's what I've accomplished and learned:
1) I love to blog. I might not be the most captivating
blogger out there but I enjoy doing it.
2) I've 'met' some really nice people
in the blog world. If I follow your blog,
you know who you are.
3) I never knew how much a comment
could mean. It means the world
to me when you take time out of your day
to read my blog and/or comment on it.
4) I've discovered how much you fellow
bloggers can inspire me!
I built my own arbor
for heaven's sake.
5) I've learned I can pitch a tent,
cook out over a fire,
and break down a camp site it
less than 20 minutes
when a storm is approaching.
6) I managed to rely
on my GPS system to go someplace
I've never gone before.
7) I've had people I know and don't know
support me in my endeavors of building
good lives for my special needs children.
You humble me.
8) I've learned a bit about
editing photos, thanks to a fellow blogger.
9) It took me the entire year,
but I finally got a header on my blog
AND a title on that header!
10) Lastly, I've learned I want to
continue to try to stretch my wings
I'm hoping 53 makes it easier.
11) Because of your comments on my blog
entry entitled "To Nook or Not to Nook"
I caved in and got a Nook.
So far, so good
but it's even more technology for
this non-techie person to learn! Ack!
Things I still need to learn:
1) How to do the "link" thing properly.
2) To find even more blogs
3) To find more hobbies,
in addition to camping.
4) How to do a better
job editing my photos.
5) To carry my camera
with me at all times.
One last thing I've learned...
I'd rather blog than Facebook.
I want to thank everyone
that has followed me through Facebook.
Your comments have enriched me more than
you could know.
since I am going to try to reduce
my Facebook time,
this is the last blog entry I will be posting
You are welcome to follow me here
or through email
or be happy you don't have
to indulge me anymore. :)
I can't wait to see what the
next year brings!
