Lake Superior:
The largest freshwater lake
(by surface area)
in the world.
Average depth: 483 feet
Maximum depth: 1332 feet
Shoreline: 2,726 miles
During storms, the average wave size is 20'.
However, 30 foot waves have been recorded.
The day we arrived was the only day we saw
any waves.
The next two days it was
serene.
Mirror like.
Calm and peaceful.
I don't recall ever
seeing it like that before.
The many face of Lake Superior.
Nothing less than spectacular.

Oh now this is a place I have always wanted to visit. Thank you for sharing. Lake Ontario is cold but I imagine Lake Superior is even colder. Great shots. B

I Love Lake superior, if I didnt know any better at times I'd think it was an ocean....oh those waves.
Wow beautiful! I've evidently missed a few days, but all of your pictures are beautiful. What a wonderful getaway!
neat! right now i'd like some of its coolness...
When you're standing on the shore and can't see the other side, it feels like more of an ocean, doesn't it? It's great to be reminded of its size, thanks for the info.
I have flown over that lake several times on our way to synchronized swim meets! It is like flying over an OCEAN!!! Beautiful pictures!!!!
