How funny is that. I have never been that close to any wild animal. Hope the Easter bunny brings you the long lens you are wishing for. But if not, I don't mind your long distance photos. They are awesome. TFS. Ana
I know that feeling of wanting a long range lens! But on Sunday and Monday I managed to get good shots of a wild turkey on our property, because it was practically in front of me while I looked at it from inside. But they really are pretty elusive, aren't they?
A long range lens, wouldn't that be wonderful? But I'm not gonna get one anytime soon. Love the turkeys! I've never seen one close up, a wild one I mean.
Love the turkeys! Looks like many of us would love to get better cameras! I always enjoy your photos (just as they are) and at least, we all have something on our wish lists!!!
Awesome.....lots of people go hunting and never get to see them!! My husband said he saw one on our driveway the other day when he drove in! Good shot!
What a joy to see these guys in the wild. I remember my husband had a turkey caller thingy and while out in the woods he tried to get a turkey to answer him but could not. Guess who got a turkey to gobble back...Yep, me! Does that make me a turkey? LOL

I know, I want a long range lens too ;-) Don't think that's going to happen though - they're expensive!

Wild turkeys are so aware of their surroundings that it's very hard to sneak up on them. You're brave for trying, though.
Let's purchase a long range lens at the same time!
Great picture!!
Thank you for you kind comments on our blog today and every day.

It's pretty hard to sneak up on a wild turkey, I know that from personal experience. :))
Your picture captions make me giggle :)

Close up or far away...you caught them!
I've seen some wild turkeys recently along the highway. You don't see them too often - at least not around here.
Great to see those Jill :)

I am always amazed at how smart wild turkeys are an how unsmart domestic turkeys are.
Be vewwy vewwy quiet! :)
I can just imagine you standing on a twig and it going snap and scaring them away. That's what would happen to me anyway lol.
