Thrifty Thursday

I could not have asked
for a better morning
to set off for my
day of thrift stores.

I had to stop to snap shots
of this...

through the pines.
And then...

in the clear.

I'm sure there
are a million things
wrong with these photos
from a technical view point
but I couldn't pass them up.

When I thrift,
I'm always hoping for some
good crafting items:
buttons, lace, ribbons
and trinkets that can be
added to my crafting projects.
No such luck yesterday but I did find
some miscellaneous
salt and pepper shakers
(for a craft project)
a cute little glass jar and this...
he had so much personality I knew I had to have him.

I have always wanted on of these for
my garden.
This one may be used
inside during the winter months.

The stuff inside came with it.
I'd like to find a raven (stuffed)
to place inside
for Halloween.
Ideas are forming
on how to use it for
the other upcoming holidays.

We managed to stop at several
dollar stores too.
Lots of goodies were found
for upcoming Christmas projects.
A nice lunch with my
friend and my day was
complete.

And how was your day?

Love your halloween decorations. I am big on Halloween. I was married that day 3 years ago after being together for 10 years. LOL.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures. I look forward to seeing your amazing photos daily.

Jill, it sounds like a wonderful day! You should be able to find a stuffed raven this time of year! LOL! I love the yard cat. And the pictures are beautiful! Hope you have a great weekend.

Your sky shots are fun and I agree they started your day off well. You also did well at the thrift store, just in time for Halloween!

I need to go thrifting with you. I need someone to show me how wonderful it is supposed to be. I have problems with thrifting for some reason... thrifting is not the same as going to antique stores, right?

And I think your pictures are absolutely perfect.

My day was sorta nice too. It was the first day that it was cool enough to wear a jacket. Now today I had to put on a coat to take out the trash. One day between fall and winter? Come on!

Like your new autumn header.

Cool cage! You can open it and fill it with Christmas balls with a strand of mini-lights.
Glad you had fun!

What a lovely cage! This is a cage for all seasons! It will look beautiful at Christmastime and during the winter, just as it will for every other season or holiday! Great find!

Love your sunrise shots - I know what you mean: I'm sure there are all sorts of things wrong with the ones I take, but if I like 'em, that's all that counts!
And I love that black kitty!

I got a couple of "Black Birds" from Hobby Lobby, just to see what the cat would do... I'm sure at this time of year you should be able to find something that would work. Maybe a Cardinal for Christmastime?

Have you had anyone else tell you that they had trouble adding your button? I tried a couple of times.
