Daydreaming

This probably sounds odd,
but that's never stopped me before,
this is one of my favorite parts
of my yard.

The inner little girl in me
has always imagined
it a haven
for fairies and gnomes.

If you look very closely,
can't you see them scampering up
and down the limbs and vines?

It seems to be their private
playground.
I've always wanted to sit under
these to daydream.
I just didn't want to disturb the fairies.
(fessing up...the real reason I don't sit there...wood ticks!)

After turning another year older,
I had a realization in viewing my special spot.
It seems to me to be a metaphor
for life.
Reaching.  Falling. Twisting.
Gnarly. Strong. Turning.
Plummeting.
Aging. Flaking.
Solitude.

Enough of real life.
I'm out to chase fairies.
Enjoy YOUR day!

Yep I can see the faries just a swangin'. The wood ticks wouldn't dare bother them.

Oooh Jill, I love your enchanted fairyland... you and I would have soo much fun together... these are the spots I seek out, for the fairies, for peace of mind, for solitude and daydreaming... I wish I had a spot like that in my own yard... I am working at creating one... in the meantime, I go to the thicket down the lane to daydream... much love to you... enjoy your day amongst the sweet little fairies... xoxo Julie Marie

I've been reading about fairie gardens and fairie houses recently; making me think about trying my hand at them.

Good luck catching those fairies!

Ticks. I found one on me while visiting my homeland. Home sweet home. ;)

Oh I 100% agree with you and I too would admire it from afar. I really don't like any kind of insect. Ticks and their diseases scare me to death.

I have a vivid imagination too and one of my favorite things to do is make up different scenarios "suppose this and that"!! Keeps us young

I love your metaphor. If I missed you getting another year older happy Birthday. I love anywhere there are trees and fairies no matter how old I get. :) Hug B

That looks like a great place for fairies to live.

Yeah, I wouldn't sit under because of the bugs, but as a little girl I probably would have. Reality sucks!!
Go chase some fairies!

Yes I could imagine the fairies hiding amongst the leaves and sliding down the branches. I'm sure that would be a wonderful spot to sit and dream.

Since I love looking for Angels, you find your fairies, I'll look for Angels, they're cousins after all!

It's lovely to have the inner girl inside of our grown bodies!
