Being new to the
school I'm
working at,
I was able to
participate in
a yearly ritual.
Field Day.
An entire day,
spent out
at a ball park
that houses 6 fields.
The entire secondary
side of the school
departed at 8:15 a.m.
and returned at 2:45. p.m.
Teams are
determined by
what Advisory Group
the students attend.
Each team,
designed and wore
their own T-Shirts.
Even staff got in on the action
and did their own T-shirts too!
Two of my co-workers.
The competition was serious
and stiff.
But no team
took it to a higher degree
than this team:
The teacher is the one
in the middle.
Getting ready to bat.
SCORE!
By the "Glitter Princesses."
Yes, the guys were all for
the name and pink shirts too!
As evidenced by this
"Coleman's Creepers"
it was a fun day for all!
The Celtic Warriors
took home the championship
and have thrown
down the gauntlet
for next years
challenge.
I can hardly wait
to see it all!
Unfortunately,
the staff lost to the Seniors
but they gave those
young'uns a run
for their money!

OMG, you brought back so many memories. I participated in field days when I was in elementary. I almost always (not to brag) won a blue ribbon which back then was first place. I was a runner, long distance. All through junior high and then was asked in high school to be on the team. So much fun.

Looks like a fun time. (Not being athletic in the LEAST, Field Day was not my favorite day of the school year....!)
I miss those days - I was a teacher's assistant for 13 years. I loved field days. Have fun for me. sandie
