THOSE Days!
I love my job.
I really do.
What I love more
are the kids I work with.
Even on a day like today.
As I was giving an oral spelling test to
a student, he asked me to repeat the word
several times.
Still unable to decipher it,
he instructed me to
"just write it on the board."
Bless his heart...
he was so serious!
It was so hard for me not
to comply!
Next up,
a student arrived with
a severe
case of pink eye!
Much cleaning ensued after she was sent
right back home.
Then it got worse.
For me.
You see, I carry a rather large
bag with all my tools of the trade...
schedules, notebooks, folders, pencils, pens,erasers,
highlighters, sharpies, glues sticks, scissors, etc.
Plus, of course, my personal items like
my billfold, chapstick, mints, etc.
This morning, it all took a bath it
hot chocolate.
Apparently, in haste,
I hadn't sealed up my mug tightly
when I returned it to my bag.
Luckily,
nothing was damaged beyond repair.
I also left my coat
(it was over 30 after all)
and my lunch bag
at school
and....
hit the house when I pulled into
the garage!
So that was my day!
How was yours?

Well I will say yours was worse then mine today. But I miss those days - I was a parapro for 15 years and I loved it. I had to quit to take care of Andy and my mother.

Oh my . . . sorry it was not a good day . . . I hope tomorrow is top notch!
Oh Jill, I love how you tell it like it is! Tomorrow will be better - it has to be!
Certainly seems to have been a full day and what a pity about your bag...that really sucks and it's no use saying you'll be more careful next time....you have to deal with the mess now. I do hope nothing was too badly damaged? Joan
OOPS! Sure hope today is better!
Wow, that is a rough day! I hope you don't get pink eye.
Keep up that sense of humor. What else can you do??
Well that sounds like a day that is good to be over with! Hope today is better for you.
I had to laugh at your string of events. All or nothing. Never fails. I got a kick out of the student who asked you to write the word on the board.
Oh my goodness, Jill. Yours is the third blog I've read in the past two days where folks have had mishaps....not getting the year off to a good start, I'm afraid!
Glad nothing was damaged in your bag.
And what a cute story about your student in the oral spelling test!
OH MY WORD my day was calmed compared to yours. Bless your heart I can still see your great big smile in spite of the day.
Hugs Madi and mom
Oh, boy! At least that day is OVER!! And to echo Lisa, I hope you don't get pink eye.
Wow your day sounds as interesting as mine but I must say I could go for that hot chocolate right now:) Hugs B

Dear Jill, Somedays you just have to laugh to keep from crying...Wishing you a better day! Love, Penny
I usually get a few of those days that run together... but it can't be our fault right? :) Hope tomorrow is much better.
Okay Jill... You are seriously in need of a trip to Mexico!
If worse come to worse, put your flip flops on and make yourself a Martini
Sounds like you really did have "one of those days"! Bless your heart! I hope tomorrow is better!

That was quite the day! I hope your Thursday was 'all good!' :-)
As an ESL teacher at a local community college, I can relate to so much of this. Including the "tools of the trade" taking a bath. Love it and love your blog!
Oh, Jill!
That was a horrible day! As a teacher, I can certainly relate.
Hang in there, summer's coming!
Hugs,
Patti
