Stop this Train, I'm Getting Off...

Or...
Calgon, Take Me AWAY!

Really.  Truly.
I might just be getting ready to get off  this ride.
What is IT with this week anyway?

Monday brought a broken down
Direct TV box
and a nicely
sliced thumb
(me...no stitches required).

We're trying to celebrate around here
in the midst of craziness.
The good news?
Becky is Student of the Month!
WooHoo!
So happy and proud of her
and very thankful the
school is acknowledging
how hard the special ed. kids work TOO!
We go to a continental breakfast
Friday morning (6:50 AM)
with the promise of awards and prizes being gifted.
WooHoo!
Nothin' my girl likes better than a prize or two.
Who doesn't?
 Just sayin'!

On the down side,
my son has been inhabited by aliens.
I am NOT kidding.
Well, OK, I'm not sure
but he is having some really bizarre issues of late.
I'm not sure I know who he is at this point!
I'm feeling the need to place a call to
Richard Dreyfus to see if he can figure it out.
Or maybe Taps, the Ghost hunters.
Perhaps an unsettled spirit has taken over his brain.
There's no full moon so I can't blame that.

And then...then...as if there isn't enough going on,
I can't get my background and fonts set to accommodate
everyone.  I'm trying.  I really am.
I just need to figure out why I can't get a white background
behind my text.

If you promise to stick with me,
I will work it out.  Promise.
You don't really know me but trust me when I say,
my word is good!

And if you promise to stick with me,
I'll promise to quit bragging and whining too!
Well, maybe not forever,
but at least for this week!

Who doesn't have issues. This is crazy. But don't worry things will get better.
I too am having issues with my blog. For some reason the background I had has I guess closed down. I am trying to get a new one and does not let me. I will work with on it later on today if not on the weekend.
Hope your week gets better.

Is Becky your daughter? Congratulations to her - that's wonderful! Sorry to hear about the other boo-boos! :( Cheer up, the good news is, January is almost over! And I love the background and the header of your blog - it's beautiful :) Have a lovely day!

I'll "stick with you"--promise. I think what you just described is called "life"! It's a roller coaster ride--one week up, one week down. But, we just keep doing it over and over because we get a thrill from it all. Congrats to your daughter (and you too)--enjoy the Friday morning event. Hugs, Mickie :)

You are having a tough time but with good news too. Nice for your daughter and hope son does calm down...
All I know about the fonts and background color is under the advanced area of blogger

Awesome job Becky! : ).. Ouch for the sliced finger for you! Sorry - hope it heals fast! : (.. And I think the same alien has inhabited and finally vacated my dh last week. Hopefully that too will pass for you all. As for your background, I really like the gray with the blue link color. I meant to mention that earlier. I know that it took a while for me to figure out which setting did what on the design settings. I will post again if I look at my settings and can figure it out! Hope your day goes better, great job to Becky though!

Aha. Found it. Go to Design, then Template Designer, then Advanced, then Background and choose the third option on there, "Post background". : ).. Good luck! (I still like the gray with the blue links but will support ya with whatever changes you make!)

Congratulations to your daughter, and maybe your son is feeling a little out of sorts because of her accomplishment. I don't know. I raised 5 kids and I have no idea how I did it! Really! And I'm single too. I love your blog, you are very talented, and I think you should whine if you want!

Some weeks are definitely not like the others. :)) Congrats to Becky for making you and herself proud!

I think the alien phase will pass soon...I hope.

As for the white background: patience, creativity, prayer, good luck, rabbits' feet and good karma may be needed. Blogger is a force to be reckoned with and YOU can do it, Jill! :))

I hope things get better - I have been in the same place as you.

Go to design. Look at top where it says to work on blogs. Then go to advance editing. Then go to blog background and pick white.

Hope that helps.

Go Becky!! I don't know what it is but there must be a full moon coming.
One of our autistic students who rarely talks like never decided to scream out the pledge this week. I about jumped out of my skin and I couldn't quit laughing just the looks on everyone's faces. It was priceless we will never know why he screamed it out but it put a smile on my face. Gotta love em

I'm so happy for Becky. There's nothing like some recognition to spur the confidence. Yay!

I'm not sure, but I think all children, no matter what age, have been abducted by aliens at one time or another. I totally get it.

Hope the rest of your week goes smoothly, dear! :)

If your son is a teenager, then I might know what the issue is. He is a teenager. :) They do this on occasion!
Enjoy the extra special breakfast tomorrow!
