Inquiring Minds Want to Know

I got nothin' for ya.
But I'm lookin' for help.

First of all,
I've noticed many of you
use Pinterest.
You all had me curious
so I had to join in.
(Still a follower, after all these years)!

Like so many other
computer related things,
I do not get it!
There, I said it.
I am not too ashamed to admit it.
I am not even sure
how I'm supposed to access it.
When I do happen
to land upon it,
I have no idea what to do.
So here's my question.
Is it worth reading
the help files?
Will it enhance my life?
Is it another time killer?
A potential addiction?
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Now, on to ETSY.
I have also
noticed many of you have
wares to sell through ETSY.
From collectibles
to beautiful handmade items.
I have a lot of stuff
I may be interested in selling.
Mostly collectibles
or antiques.
Examples include:
Old fashion jewelry,
very old books,
linens ( doily's and more),
old crochet patterns,
china,
etc.
So I ask you.
Is it worth it
to list on ETSY?
And if it is,
are there any
pricing resources
you could recommend?
I'm pretty much lost
here too.

I will anxiously
await your
comments
and guidance,
oh wise ones!

I have never looked at Etsy so don't know what it is like.

Pinterest is nice, I joined up but have no idea how it works - the photographs are beautiful though.

I spend enough time on the computer without getting drawn into anything else!!!

Good luck Jill!

I have no idea about Pinterest, what it is or anything. Etsy... looked there and they have so much neat stuff, I just am not shopping any more.

I just recently started using pinterest too. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love it because, well, it's fun. I just browse through what other people have posted (usually) and repin stuff I like. I've found some great recipes and decorating ideas. But I dislike it because it seems like the most self indulgent activity there is. Which, conversely, is another reason I LIKE it!

Etsy...I know nothing about. Sorry.

But find me on pinterest - the linky is on my blog!

If it takes away from home, the farm or the studio, it's a time waster for me. Yes, it's fun to wander around but then have nothing to show for it. I haven't been on FB in a couple of months, don't have other accounts or if I do, I don't visit.
I'm not much help.

The only thing I can help with is pinterest. I enjoy it. It does suck the time though. You start pinning and all of a sudden an hour is gone. It is like having all your inspiration boards in one place. I pin things I think my daughter will like, recipes, gardening stuff, book stuff, etc. If I don't use one of my own photographs, you can almost bet it is from pinterest. They take care of making sure it gets linked to the original poster. A lot of times I will pin something just to make it easier to get it on my blog. Worth your time? I don't know, it is just fun.

Don't know anything about Pinterest other than my adult daughter uses it. I fail to even find the fascination with Facebook!

I love Etsy and have bought several things there. Some really nice stuff. I have a Pinterest account but really not sure of its value. Keeping up with my blog is enough time consumption!

I wish I could help but I was actually hoping you could help me! I seem to try everything on the internet and quickly lose interest if there aren't dancing cats or wine. I have a pinterest account, no idea what to do with it, I even have an etsy shop, it's more like an abandoned shop but hey, it's mine! One day I figured at that the only time all day I'm not on the computer is when I'm sleeping or in the bathroom, I really have to give some of this up.

I just joined pinterest this week. It is fun, but it does take up time just like fb and blogging. I'm using it mostly for ideas for myself. It's a way for me to catalog recipes, decorating ideas, clothes that I like. I'm hoping it helps me remember this kind of stuff. I look at etsy every once in awhile but have never bought anything. Good luck Jill keep us posted on what you find out.

I am a Pinterest hold out. I don't need to waste more time. But it's probably like Twitter in that you have to use it a while to really 'get it'.

I have had an Etsy shop since May maybe? I have vintage stuff on there. So far I've only had 4 sales (and 2 of them were from the same person). So it's not incredibly fruitful, but since it doesn't cost much to list stuff I guess it has paid for itself. I'm not sure I'm going to bother relisting stuff once it expires though.

I'm with Lisa - once I read that Pinterest is addictive, I steered clear of it!

I have a Pinterest account and have tried to get into it, but like all the other social sites, it's a big time waster with little to nothing to show for it.

If you are looking for project ideas, Pinterest might be helpful to you. Lots of that going on.

I don't have an etsy shop and don't plan on it. Pretty saturated at this point, but that's just my opinion. :)
