Hanging On

We've had a couple
of hard frosts
yet these
beauties
continue to
hang on.

And the maple
is slowly
beginning
it's transformation
to what will become
a delightful
bounty of
colors.

Oh yes, I always marvel at how those pretty Cosmos hang on too.

Cosmos seem so airy and delicate, but they are tough suckers...I admire them so!

Those cosmos are beautiful. Everything down here has pretty much given in to the heat! And we don't get lovely leaves like that, either! Beautiful photos - I enjoy autumn vicariously through your pictures!

I love autumn colours. I'm not sure what we will get this year as it has been so windy and rainy. A lot of leaves are already off the trees.

Isn't it funny how things bloom at different times and then die or go to sleep at different times. It is so there can be more beauty for a longer period of time.

This must be the year for cosmos. Ours are over 5 feet tall and still blooming.

Pretty pics! I hope we see some color here, but after it was so hot and dry here this summer, I wouldn't be surprised if we have zero color. You'll probably have to provide. :-)

Very delicate flower with at very strong survival instinct...we're seeing hints of red on the Dogwoods.

The pretty, dainty little cosmos is one of my favorite flowers. I planted some here in early spring but with our raging drought and blistering summer temps they just couldn't even survive. You know it's bad when flowers and plants die even though you water them! Well, maybe next year!
