Do You See What I See?

For several days last week,
I was delightedly
distracted by a visitor to
my backyard.

I made many attempts
to take a picture of
said visitor,
but alas,
I failed.

I still wanted to share it with you,
so I sat down this morning
to google free pictures
of my new friend.
Just as I selected one
and copied it,
something caught my
attention in my peripheral vision.
This time, I was lucky.
As if on cue,
he selected a branch
and appeared to pose for me!

Let me introduce you to...
Oscar!

Isn't he AMAZING??
I keep saying he but I really have no idea
if it's a he or a she.

Here are a few more shots...

I am pretty sure from the research
I have done that this he is a barred owl.
I have been on my deck
and had him appear in flight
five feet from my head.
I did not hear a thing.

I was fortunate to
even spot him catching a
rodent one day.

I sure love
my "wild life!"

WOW! That is amazing. I've never seen an owl "in person". I'm so glad he obliged you by providing you with a photo op!

That is so cool! We have owls around here but they are very sneaky and hard to photograph...good for you for getting some wonderful shots! What a beautiful creature.
