Thrifty is Nifty

I'm a proud and happy Mom to share some news with you.
Becky got her first paycheck last week!
I'm sure you can guess what we did this weekend.
Shopped!
I had visions of my daughter spending her first paycheck on clothes, jewelry or makeup.  More on that later.

We did a lot of thrift shopping before we actual did "her shopping."
Not surprisingly, Becky was (cough) cost conscience, which translates to her
quietly begging me to buy things for her.
Several people chuckled as I reminded her that she has her own money now and that I would not be buying anything for her today.

Surprisingly, I found some real steals this weekend!
A winter coat I'm sure has never been worn: $15.00.
These Doc Martin look a likes: $2.50
And wait til you see this deal...
Brand new, never worn Sorrel Boots: $20.00!
(Only a Minnesota girl can fully appreciate this treasure).

Remember the shopping list I thought Becky might be after?
Well, here's a list of what she bought:
A scary movie.
Fairy wings.
The New Moon CD.
and last,
but not least,
a deer hunting game for the Wii.
Yup!  You read that right.
That's my Becky!

And of course, we just had to stop at the apple orchard again.
Best news there?  Honeycrisp are ready!

It just doesn't get any better than this!
May you discover a treasure today.
