Volunteers

I love to mow.

I especially like to
see what Mother Nature
has to offer in the way
of surprises for me along the way.

Just a couple of my favorites.

I always nibble a few
of these very special wild treats.

All summer long, I have been desperately
trying to snap a photo of this precious visitor.
Actually, there are a pair.
They are skittish and I can
never get the door open before they fly away.

Forgive this photo through the screen
but it's the only way I could snap this beauty!

I cannot mow. I would sneeze to death! The little blue bird is very special.

I too love to mow the lawn. Love the smell. :) OMG! The Indigo bunting! They are so beautiful. They migrate through the ranch. I have never been able to get a picture of them. When they are in a bunch its just a brilliant blue flash. So pretty. Great shot!

Pretty flowers, yummy berries and a gorgeous bird. It doesn't get much better.

I hear you about trying to get pictures of birds. We have a pair of Morning Doves that I've been trying to get a picture of but as soon as I open the door they fly just like your little bird and my zoom lens isn't that great so taking pictures out the window doesn't work well either.

Indigo Bunting pic . . . kudos to you! I used to have them in the yard but not for many years.

I was sitting on the porch and listening to all the chirps and songs. I had to come inside because I was cold. August first and feeling cold . . . Yikes!

I will be doing a mow this afternoon. A favorite for me too!

I love to mow as well. I love the feeling right after mowing is finished. And the Indigo Bunting is one of my favorite birds :)

Oh Jill, through the screen gives it character. Thank you for being a regular reader. I had missed you and give you up for loss. I hate when that happens.

I know what you mean about sneaking through the door. Yay for getting a photo of the bunting!

I didn't know so many women like to mow. I did too when I was younger and I mowed two and trimmed two yards. Now I pay for not wearing a hat or sun screen. Your bird picture is so beautiful. We don't have those here that I know of.
