Party Crasher

While going about
our business
the other day,
we heard a loud crash
on the picture window.

Becky rushed to the aid
of this startled
and stunned
Hairy Woodpecker.

She carefully carried him back to the deck
and gave him a cool
place
to regain his composure.

I'm happy to report that
after his rest and a few sips of water,
he happily flew off to join
his friends.

Don't you just love a happy ending?

Oh sometimes the window looks like another bird to them but ooooohps not for him. Your windows must be so squeeky clean they think it is a travel chanel to open spaces.

Glad he is okay thanks to Becky. We have a Becky in our family also

Glad this run in had a happy ending. I've read somewhere also that if you have an unconscious bird to put them in an open box. This fine looking bird looks happy:)

Poor boy--glad he's OK! And so glad you were at home to help. I'm sure he appreciated it! :-)

I once found a little hummingbird on the steps of my office building. I was afraid it was gone, but I nudged it a bit and it gathered itself up and flew away. I think it had flown into the door and "stunned" himself.

So thankful for a happy ending. Growing up we had a window that birds were frequently flying into.
