While going about
our business
the other day,
we heard a loud crash
on the picture window.
Becky rushed to the aid
of this startled
and stunned
Hairy Woodpecker.
She carefully carried him back to the deck
and gave him a cool
place
to regain his composure.
I'm happy to report that
after his rest and a few sips of water,
he happily flew off to join
his friends.
Don't you just love a happy ending?

Poor little fella. Glad he was okay.
Oh sometimes the window looks like another bird to them but ooooohps not for him. Your windows must be so squeeky clean they think it is a travel chanel to open spaces.

Glad this run in had a happy ending. I've read somewhere also that if you have an unconscious bird to put them in an open box. This fine looking bird looks happy:)

I once found a little hummingbird on the steps of my office building. I was afraid it was gone, but I nudged it a bit and it gathered itself up and flew away. I think it had flown into the door and "stunned" himself.
Crazy birds, I"m glad he survived the crash :)
I'm glad it turned out good for him. Great pictures
Really great photos. -Hanna Marie
So thankful for a happy ending. Growing up we had a window that birds were frequently flying into.
Love those happy endings and thanks to your daughter it was one.
that same thing happens here once in awhile...this spring I had a Goldfinch that took the longest time to get his breathe. Glad he made it...thanks to Becky's warm heart.
