The Pine Cone

I have always
loved pine cones.

They are so simple.

Rather artistic.

Layer upon layer of loveliness.

Real.

These are all SOOC.

Happy Birthday, Mom.  I miss you.

That's a great pinecone, sweet and almost comical, and perfect photos of it.

Wishing you peace and good memories on your Mom's birthday....

It is nice to take time to appreciate the simple things...
NC is called the Pine state because of our humongous pine trees which are loaded with pines cones. Lots of my tree rat friends enjoy them too..they must taste good.

Sweet thoughts to you on your Mom's birthday...
Hugs Madi and Mom

Part of my missing my mom is that I have such wonderful memories of "living a good life.". That is the missing part , I miss her and the "good life." I wish I could "ring her up" and ask her how to bake her banana cream pie, pasty, better yet, sit with her and visit and watch her in HER kitchen. I miss her "hair dos' ", her aprons, her gardening expertise, her touch . . . Did I "stir you up" with some precious memories. I am thankful I am bless't with "precious memories" in my missing.

Know what I mean . . .

I am caring about you today . . .

I LOVE pine cones and have bags upon baskets of them. Each year I hunt and find more. I have an idea now . . . Just from your photos . . . Thank you Jill!

It's Wednesday? Gawd!

I like pine cones too. I have an old one rattling around where the porch used to be. When it rains, it closes up and when it's dry outside, it bursts into it's flowery shape. Funny - it's got to be 30 - 40 years old!

Nice to have good memories of you Mom on her birthday. :-)

I guess I've never given much thought to the simple beauty of pinecones. Although I do have a basket of them in the hallway!
Thinking of you today, as you miss your Mom. We always remember those special days.

I came here and then had to do a double-check that is was the right blog. I hardly recognize it anymore but I LIKE it! I think the pine cones sitting on the wood really enhances the photos.

Dear Jill, Happy Birthday to your mom. I am sorry for your hurt. I lost both my mom and dad many, many years ago. I have been through much of my life without them, yet I miss them very, very much. I describe my feeling as a quiet that is in my life, that cannot be filled. I think that your photo of the pine cone is appropriate with simplicity. I collect pine cones too. I will keep you in my prayers. Blessings, your friend, Catherine xo
