Amid the pileated and red bellied
woodpeckers,
I have tons of
these little
downy woodpeckers.
They are the smallest
of the crew
but I swear they are going
to eat me out of house and home!
I do love 'em though
so will continue to bribe
them into posing for me.

Hi Jill... I just adore the little downys too... beautiful photos... keep bribing them!... xoxo Julie Marie
They are doing a great job of posing. Makes it easier for us doesn't it. Cute!!!
i love 'em too!
OMC Ms. Jill you have Pileated Woodpeckers at your feeders. What a treat that must be. Those majestic woodpeckers are in and around NC but Mom has never seen one in person. Our Downy's are ravenous too. Mom bought 4 cakes of suet yesterday...she loves watching them eat while she eats.

breakin' out the big guns...gettin' the big reward!!
i love these guys too. less timid + starving = better pictures for us :)
great pictures!!
Not even photography comes without price and sacrifice : ) I love these guys.
You are so lucky getting all these wee birds coming to you.
All we have here are seagulls, magpies and crows.
I love to see everybody's pictures of the little birds!!!
Your pictures are amazing. Love the woodpecker. He or she is just beautiful.
TFS.
Pretty as a picture as they say.
So beautiful! I don't blame you for bribing them to visit!
We are starting to get a few of these back at our suet feeders -- but it will need to turn colder for the whole crew to show up! :)
I have woodpeckers where I live also but they seem to love the hummingbird food and steal as much as they can. They get on the feeder and tip it so another can drink. You got some good pictures.
xo,
Danielle
I love them until they peck on my house! lol sandie
They are a lovely looking bird, well worth feeding to keep them coming back.
I love them also. They hunt through my feeders looking for the peanuts!
Keep feeding them so we can see your photos . . . We will send our woodpeckers your way . . . They want to "tap, tap, tap" on the fireplace surround on one side of the house, which is cedar. Drives my H crazzzzy!
You're lucky to have so many different woodpeckers - in Enland we only have two that are seen in gardens. So keep bribing them and keep appreciating them!
They are so cute, I love when they stop in at my bird station... I need to make some more hm suet block to hang up.
They are such cute little birds!
Happy Monday Ms. Jill!!
I cracked the whip which made Mom prepare a week's work of blog post so I'll be in blogville every day.
I might be a little slow on visiting bloggies but I'll get there. MOL So if I miss you one day I'll surely be there the next
Hugs
Madi
