I'm doing a mixed Monday kind of post today.
Anyone else feel all mixed up today?
Might be the wind.
Or the chill in the air.
Either way, I'm giving into it.
First of all,
have any of you noticed
I now have a blog button?
See it?
Look to the upper right.
I'm so excited!
Thank you so much to
at A Rural Journal for
volunteering to make it for me!
She did a fantastic job
and I'd be so happy if you would visit
her lovely blog.
It never would have happened, without her.
Please feel free to take my button with you!
I keep telling you all how
computer challenged I am..,
I don't even have a nice header, after all! ha!
Now onto a more serious note.
For my long time followers,
I am sorry for the repeat but
this is really important to me.
Two years ago,
my sisters life was saved
due to the unselfish
generosity of someone
that was brave enough to donate
the organs of a lost loved one.
My sister was a recipient
of the liver and thanks to them,
I have my sister today.
As I type this,
my brother is on his way to
Pittsburgh. He will be admitted
to the hospital there
for a weeks worth
of tests.
At the end,
he will be placed on
the transplant list
for a new liver.
We will be so grateful
once he receives his liver
and is in the hard,
long stages of recovery.
We know our gain is
at the expense of someone
elses loss.
We take this to heart.
We do not take it lightly.
We pray for those families.
We feel for their loss.
We thank them.
We thank them as siblings, spouses,
nieces, nephews,
and grandchildren.
There are so words sufficient in thanking those
for giving our family members
the gift of life.
Organ donations do make a
difference.
If you are able,
I ask that you consider becoming a donor.
It does make a difference to someone.
Love,
Jill

I hope your brother gets fixed up soon. Already on the donor wagon here! :-)
Congrats on the button! Nancy is awesomesauce :-)
I'm already signed up as a doner - no point in me holding onto organs I won't need. What a gift to give someone.
Hope your brother gets help soon.
I'm signed up as a donor too, and like you have seen first hand the lives it can change!
I'm sending good thoughts for your brother from my corner of VA!
Hope your brother gets help soon.
I just read a blog or post yesterday - it had a woman listening to another man's chest - it was her son's beating heart - inside of him.
I will get your button.
sandie
ps I can't get it on there.
Jill,
I total agree with you and encourage people to consider registering with the Organ Tissue Bank.. (I used to work with them during my working hospitals days.)
Wonderful news about your sister and I will be thinking about your brother.
Love, Lynne
Good post today, Jill! My best goes to your brother!
I'm already signed up! Thoughts and prayers for your brother...
I believe in donating my organs. After I am gone, I am sure not going to need them. I am so happy that your sister was blessed with a donation that saved her life. I am praying that your brother also receives a donation.
blessings,
Danielle
I'm a donor as well -- signed up when I got my driver's license last time. :)
I am so happy about your sister and I am sure your brother is going to be fine too.
I have had my donor card in my wallet for 30 years and keep renewing it. My family knows of my wishes I take care of my body and would be very happy for someone to use anything when I am gone. B
Prayers of thanks for your sister and her donor, and prayers for your brother to receive. I have been a donor for a very long time. Should anything ever happen to me, then I think it would be God's will for someone else to benefit. My family knows well, how I feel. Good luck to your family and my prayers remain steadfast.

I'm already signed up too. Good luck to you and your family. In my thoughts and prayers.
Prayers for your brother. Thank you for the reminder. I will check and see if I said yes on my drivers license.
Oh Jill!
This post put a lump in my throat.
I hope and pray your brother gets his transplant quickly.
My Dad tried to get on the lung transplant list.
PS
Your button is awesome...good job, Nancy!
I have been a donor for along time. hoping someday I can donate something that someone can use. What a gift it will be for me to give.

It's on my driver's license-should something happen to me, it would be an honor to be able to help someone else. I hope your brother can receive a liver in the very near future--I wish him the best of luck. And, so glad your sister is doing well. Take care, and have a great week. Mickie :)
Another doner here. Best wishes to your sis and brother!

Sending some love and healing to Pittsburgh..will get there extra quick since I'm so close.
I have not yet signed up. But I have been thinking over it very seriously. Just I cannot decide. Jill, your post is encouraging me. Yes, how important it is!
I love your photo. The tree is holding fallen leaves as if a mother were holding her children. Thanks a lot for writing this. Jill, your blogs are always my favorite.
My prayers are with him.
Best wishes,
keiko
