In typical Minnesota
fashion,
we went from 81 degrees
on Wednesday to
61 degrees on
Thursday.
What made it unique
though was the wind.
It held steady most
of the day but occasionally
offered gusts of in excess of 45 mph.
If you don't know, by now,
I live amid 100's of pine trees.
Look closely at the picture below:
Check out my screen door:
The next ones went right through the screen:
A small portion
of what's covering my deck.
Poor little oak tree
almost blew away.
No harm. No foul.
Just a nuisance.
Tolerable,
thanks to these:
And especially
to these:
Doesn't get much better!

Do the birds holler high in those pine trees? Bet those pine needles could almost be a weapon with the high wind. It must be very pretty there.
I can just smell those pine trees!
We have a very windy day here, ourselves and we've had a big temp drop. Feels a lot more like autumn today than yesterday did!
I like your pictures, especially that last one! Pretty!
jill, the pin cushion. :)
Love those golden red leaves. No the clean up begins, heh!
Geez!! I'd hate to be outside there in a strong Wind!!Hahaa

At least your screen doors aren't all covered in stinkbugs! Sigh.
Great pictures...with winds like that pine needles become flying projectiles....wear goggles outside.
It is 80 today but by tomorrow it will hardly reach 60. Must be some of your air coming this way.
Hugs Madi and Mom
You have to love the smell of the pine it is worth it. I love the maple leaves they are changing fast here also. Burrrr cold here too.B
Phew - you do live up north where it is going to get cold! sandie
Do you use pine needles to mulch in winter? They really are my favorite. If you have azaleas the pine needles will supply the acid for the most beautiful blooms. Lovely tree. Bonnie
Must smell great. That is the first thing I think of when I see the needles.
We have Ponderosa Pine around the house and I am getting those needles everywhere too. Will be time to rake them up soon. :)
