Alpaca You and You Alpaca Me

OK.
I'm sorry for my lame attempt
at trying to be funny.
But it made me giggle.

Saturday, while running errands,
we came across something
that thrilled me to my core.
What was it you ask?
An Open House at
an Alpaca Farm!
(Debbie, of course I thought of you)!

I was as giddy as a teenager
in love as I pulled
into the driveway,
as I eyed countless,
yes, countless Alpacas!

There were 26 in all!

And while they all looked
alike at first glance,
they all as unique
as we are.

Meet Penny.,
She's the proud Grandma!

I fell head over
heels in love with this one.
Her name is Lucy
and she's the baby of the bunch.

She made me giggle as she
walked around
eating hay off of the others.
Why bend down at a feed box
when you don't have to?

This is Jean.
She gave a wonderful demonstration
on spinning the wool.

They had 8 babies last year
so they are trying to thin out their herd.
$2000 for one,
$3000 for two.
Any takers?
I'd sure like to,
if I could.

It was a great day!

Oh wow, that looks like so much fun. I would love to have joined you just to take a close look at them and pet them if they would let you.

We have a couple of alpaca farms near us. They're SO adorable; remind me of big ol' stuffed animals!

I'd love to purchase an alpaca...but I'm sure my husband would object. :) How nice you got to see them up close. Lucy looks like such a sweetheart.

The baby also makes me giggle. I just want to pinch those cheeks, but it is probably all fur! :)

seems pretty affordable, considering they're still 'exotic'. :)
