This is a post I've wanted to write for awhile.
I just didn't know how.
Until now.
Inspired by
this gift from
nature.
Magic in its finest form.
Through the looking glass.
I am reminded
of our own
uniqueness.
How strong we may look,
yet how fragile
we really are..
How we can look
so different
from several angles.
Or through
other eyes.
Recently,
I was asked to leave my regular post at work
to fill in for someone in another area at school.
It sounds minor,
it is, after all, only an hour a week
for 6 weeks.
However,
it's were the students that get in trouble are sent.
It's
way out of my comfort zone.
Let me assure you,
I can be tough, too tough probably.
Yet, these would be teens I don't know.
In this type of situation,
I am a mouse!
While being trained in,
I was making several typing errors due to my nerves.
I was embarrassed
and kept apologizing.
The woman training me turned
and said to me:
"Stop apologizing,
there is only grace here for you."
In that single moment in time,
my whole being went quite.
I was speechless.
No one,
has ever said a kinder thing to me.
I was gven a gift that day.
I won't forget it.
These crystal like shapes
have been a reminder too.
We all have a story.
Strength and weakness
are one.

A lovely thought! You will do fine in your "new" temporary post because you have so much love for others and it comes out in your posts! Your pictures are great. Enjoy your weekend.
I like that thought about uniqueness. I agree - that the ice is very unique too - it all depends on how we look at things.
Love, sandie
Oh Jill, what a wonderful, sweet post!
I'm sure it will be challenging at the new school, BUT you will handle each challenge with grace and learn along the way. I love the pic taken looking directly up at the ice :-)

I wish you well in your "fill in" spot. Beautiful ice shots and perspectives.
Oh I LOVE this the photos are amazing and your words. I think that was very wise advice from the woman. It is so true I would never have thought of it that way either. Beautiful Jill. Hug B
Those ice cycle shots are really interesting and beautiful.
On the other hand, I think not enough of us have been so lucky to have that truly uplifting experience of someone recognizing your value and saying it out loud. I'm sure you will do well with your new venture and learn from it as well.
What a lovely post Jill and what lovely pictures of that piece of ice.

Very reflective of you Jill . . .
We see your "Art of Grace". . . and love your humility too . . .
Dearest Jill, Your post was helpful and thoughtful for me. Today was a bit difficult and I try to be as strong as I can be for my children and for myself, yet inside we are fragile. I know this because there is very little that I don't feel tears in my eyes over.
I will remind myself of the graces given for each task that we are asked to endure. Blessings and xoxo, Catherine
I think you will be the best fill-in they could have . Nice little lesson in this post. Thanks.

A random act of kindness coming back to you : )
Lovely. I especially like the parts about looking different from every angle and looking strong buy being surprisingly fragile. Love.
