Embracing Fall

Saturday's have become
date nights or days.

This one began
on a chilly, relatively
overcast day
but it still felt good to get
out in the nip
of autumn's air.

We began in a maze of corn:

We did not get lost
but we never did find our last checkpoint.
I loved the 1.5 mile walk.
And they just loved being together.

Next stop...
the apple orchard
where we began with a hayride.

We were in very capable hands.

The colors were pretty.
Sorry for the slight blur,
it's not easy taking a picture
while sitting on a hay bale
bouncing through the orchard.

The sweet scent of the apples
was intoxicating.

Dusty shoes and socks from the corn field.

Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins
but the Great Pumpkin was no where to be found.

Here we are, returning to our
starting point.

The barn now holds
a very charming little gift shop.
The building to the left
houses more gifts,
the best apples you could ever want
and the ooiest, gooiest bestest caramel apples
in the world!

We returned home for some
pizza and rounds of Wii.

It was the best of days.

How are you spending your fall days?

Such gorgeous photos, Jill. I love everything that you mentioned...especially caramel apples! So happy Becky and friend had a good time and I know after working all week, it was nice for you to be outdoors and enjoy the sights and sounds of Autumn.
We were in the 60's today (cool for us) and I walked at the park and visited the garden center. I love fall!

Nice fallish pictures. Glad your daughter and friend had a nice time. We are enjoying some cooler weather here too but I wouldn't bet on it lasting long.

Looks like a lot of fun. I am going this Friday with my little ones from school can't wait although they're not so little anymore. I am at the high school this year. Great photos!

Loved your pics! We're not really having any fall colors yet: ours will be in November.

Oh Jill,
I love these Fall pictures. The bright orange pumpkins are wonderful, and tells me it's time to get myself a couple for my porch. It looks like you had such a great time. We just went to the pumpkin farm recently. It sounds like you love Fall as much as I do, my friend.

Jill,
What a delightful autumn day you spent. As I have very bad sense of direction, I won't be able to go through such a long maze, but I want to try. It seems to be a great fun.
Your world is totally wrapped with beautiful autumn colors!!
Have a pleasant week!
