Catching Up

So many of you nice friends
have been asking how my new job is going so I thought
I'd do a quick update here.

First though, my apologies to you
as I have been very neglectful on posting comments
in the last few weeks.

The job itself has many positive things.
I adore the young adults I work with.
The school itself is one of respect.
There is a more conservative code of dress
and I still haven't heard any swearing from the students (or staff) and that is so refreshing!
My superiors are amazing with the students!
Calm, cool, collected and inspiring.
This is all new to me as it was
not this way at my past school.
It is a charter school
and that means parents are highly involved.
I like that too!

On the downside...
I still don't like the commute.
However, the colors this fall are outstanding
and I am drinking them in every day!
I'm hoping most of you remember
the "Unknown Comic."
I pretty much feel like the
"Unknown Para" as the teachers
seem oblivious to me as do most
of the other paras.
I've decided it's probably something I should embrace though
as there isn't any gossiping to listen too.
Advantages in everything.

On the lighter side,
I fell going UP the stairs the other day.
Other than my pride
and a sore leg, I am fine.
The young man I work with
seems to have become MY protector.
So very sweet.
I got asked today if I'm a Grandma
(that stung a little)
and told the other day it drives one student
nuts because I am missing a tooth.
I L O V E their honesty.  I really do.
They will always keep me humble.

The hardest part of being back to work is now being
the sole supporter, housekeeper, chief bottle washer
and the outdoor crew.
Just yesterday I accomplished the following:
Cleaned the kitchen, paid the bills, vacuumed, shaved my legs (TMI, sorry!), cleaned the front and back gutters, mulched the leaves, hung a bird feeder, cleaned the cat box, ironed, made supper, packed the lunch bags, grocery shopped and put the goods away, washed all of the bedding and remade the beds and well..you get the idea.
This working just gets in the way of my blogging
and Words With Friends!

Becky and the boy are still an item
so I got in my Saturday night date.  Woohoo!

I've been toying with some ideas:
1) Cutting back on blogging,
2) Changing how I blog, or
3) Stopping all blogging.

I'll keep you posted.
Thanks for hanging in here with me
while I dabble at this all, for now.
And most of all...
thanks for caring.
Seems ironic that I finally hit 200 followers
and now don't have the time to commit to it.
Maybe it's a sign .

Keep bloggin' girls and guys.
I miss ya all!

Hi Jill,
Thank you for keeping us updated about your new job! I know how it is to be working and having all the chores at the house that needs our attention. Have a lovely day my friend!

Hey Jill. That is so nice that you are enjoying your job. It would really be horrible if you hated it. Kids are brutally honest at times, but better to be that way.
Don't stop blogging. Even if you only blog once a week. That would be fine. I have not blogged lately but do enjoy visiting others blogs. Glad to know that Becky and the boy are still an item. She must be happy.

thanks for the update jill, i think about you everyday!!

i work from home with lot's of flexability, no schedule at all. that makes everything a lot easier,
and no commute.

i know some people blog ahead and save them. would you have time on the weekends to prepare some entries and then schedule them to post. it's not the same but just a thought. i never know what i am going to write about until i wake up in the morning!!

you'll get it jill, it just takes time to find your rhythm!!

I really enjoyed your update and reflecting. Your new work commitment changes things doesn't it? The answer to continue blogging or not will come . . . give it some time.

I am amazed at the time commitment to blog. Photography, organizing, creating, following, commenting . . . to name just a few.

And then there are all the other things in life. Jobs, children, grandchildren, spouses, gardening, crafting, dates with Becky's budding romance, household tasks plus tons more . . .

As I said, give it some time Jill to sort it all out.

I am thinking of you and caring!

Glad it's going so well. I would miss you tremendously if you quit! I vote for just blogging when you have a chance - even if that only happens once or twice a month. We still want to hear from you and see your pics!!

Life is so short, it's a shame we haven't figured out how to make it easier so that everyone can enjoy it. Seems the older we get the more work we have to do and that's not right. I think you are a very brave, strong person and maybe just cut back on the blogging :)

you'll find the right balance that will work. thanks for the update, dearie.

Glad you're doing well Jill (miss multitasker) Not sure how you do it all but you inspire me. You really musn't quit blogging, but cutting back would be acceptable, your blogging friend would miss you way too much. Blog when you can...because you want to, not because you have to.

Just blog less - but don't leave - unless you really want too. Boy I loved my job when I was a para. Did you say you had a date????

you DO have a lot going on in your life right now. I really hope you continue to blog - even if it's sporadically. We'll be here for you - when you post. and don't worry about reading and commenting. You have to take care of the necessary things that NEED your attention!
Take care of YOU!

Oh I agree that a job is a huge inconvenience and distraction : )
I hope you find your grove - and I am sure you will - and you will fit all the things you really want to do in. It is hard to give up blogging. I hope you don't.

Oh please don't give up. When school starts I have to cut back. Sometimes I write a couple over the weekend and set to post later in the week. Good to hear from you.

Jill it sounds like the changes in your life (even though busy) are good. I am so happy that you are happy with your new job. That makes it all worth it. If you stop blogging I will miss you. It doesn't matter if you post less, I hope you keep your blog. Take care of yourself friend.

Hope you get everything figured out. It will all work out for the best.

Don't feel bad about tripping going up the stairs. I did that last spring on cement stairs. I had 6 stitches and I still have a noticeable scar under my left eye.

Give yourself time. Blogging and work can be managed....but it is tricky:) I'm glad your working and enjoying it all. Kids are so brutally honest sometimes and it stings when they ask such direct questions. Remember that anyone past 25 is old:) Have a good night.

First of all.....DON'T STOP! We need you! You just check in less frequently and now and then keep us updated on the happenings at your place and we will be fine. You were starting to make the rest of us look bad anyway with all your frequent blog posts and commenting....this makes you seem more human! ;)

You certainly have a lot on your plate, now.

I'm with you on the blogging. I kinda missed out on the month of September and found that it really frees up some hours, not sitting here waiting on my computer!! I love reading every one's blogs and would miss it but..........

Jill, don't quit just thin things out. I've noticed on a lot of blogs folks have hudreds of followers but they dont have hundreds of comments. I am not persuing lots of followers because I too would not have time for all that reading and blogging. But I really enjoy this little space I have carved out. Now...
You'll feel better when I tell you... my laundry is dirty in the basket, there are dishes in the sink, the fridge is almost empty and I had a frozen dinner for supper. The only thing I did today was go to work, clean the litter box and feed the fur face.

Glad things are GOING..and mostly going well. A big DRAG on your time for sure. YOU have to do what works for YOU. Maybe blog here and there...I know mine has slowed down considerable over the years but I can't QUITE give it up!

Wow you sound BUSY for sure. Sometimes that a good thing and sometimes it can be exhausting. Which is why you need "down time" and even though you may not be able to blog every day I think you would miss it and I know we would miss hearing from you. Consider it "therapy!" Hugs from me to you.

Hi Jill, The unknown comic you say, well that's a blast from the past. I know you are not wearing a paper bag on your head at school, but it is hard to be new anywhere. Until they can clone us, just keep on doing whatever makes you happy. If something has to go I say stop shaving your legs, wear tights or pants! ;-).
love, Penny

Sounds like this new school is a wonderful place to work. Blogging is so very time consuming- but do it on your terms!

Bless your heart, I know it's hard. All you can do is what you can do. Don't try to run any faster than you are able, it only leads to burn out! I would definitely miss you but I know how it is!

Please do not quit your blog. We all understand you have other things going on..but you can always put an update on occasionally. We love you for who you are and not because you visit us. Just leave it here and know that you and yours are in our prayers.
Have a safe and nice weekend.

Ah Jill, I must have missed this post as I am just catching up with you.
Your job sounds as if it going well and you are enjoying it (if not the commute). Sounds as if you are a really busy lady with lots to do.
You have to remember to make time for yourself too - even if that is a blog every now and then. I hope you don't give it up as I enjoy reading your posts and getting to know you better. But I totally understand it is difficult to find time for it.
Whatever you decide to do I wish you luck and I hope you keep your blog up.
You take care :))

You are wonder woman, I don't think I could keep that pace very long. Glad to hear that things are going fairly well with your new job and hope it continues to be exactly what you want.

Whatever you decide -- I support you, friend. But if you quit, I'll miss you. xo
