What's Bloomin'?

I love finding surprises in the garden.
Don't you?
I planted these about four years
ago, enjoyed them the first year
and haven't seen them since.
Until last night.

Zebrina Mini Hollyhock.
They really are not a hollyhock at all.
They are Malva Sylvestris and were
popular in Victorian Gardens.
Nicknamed a mini hollyhock because of the similar way they grow.

I adore the heady scent of the Stargazer Lily.

Cosmo.  Notice the creepy crawly on the stem on the white bud?
Anyone know what that might be?

More pretties tomorrow.

Enjoy your Saturday!

Ohhhhhhh so pretty and the Stargazer lilies made mom smile. She told me my sissy had stargazers in her wedding bouquet they were divine smelling and made such a pretty bouquet. Mom will try to find a pic to send to you via email

Dear Jill,

Sorry I haven't been posting every day - this week has been crazy crazy! Oh my gosh, your flowers are beautiful!! Each one of them. You're right, is there anything sweeter than the Stargazer in a bouquet? Oh the Zabrina is just gorgeous!! As is the Cosmo ~ all are simply beautiful!!!

Your photos are always so detailed in their color and dimension, oh I know, it's just a point and shoot - but you shoot pretty darn good, Jill!

I think you creepy crawly guy is who's been munching on your Comso petal! She'll be a beautiful butterfly one day soon, won't she?

I just love coming to visit, Jill, and now that things have calmed down for me, I'll be back on a regular basis! Can't wait to see what else you have to show us!

Hugs, dear friend, and have a lovely Sunday!
Donna

Gorgeous flowers Jill. The Stargazer Lily is so very pretty.
I was particularly interested in the Malva Sylvestris. In Thailand I was given a tea made with those flowers and it was called "A Lady's Drink" - after a lot of research I found out that it keeps bladder healthy in much the same way as cranberry juice does.
Cheers! :D)
