Garden Grow?
Well, we all know I am not Mary.
But I have planted a wee garden
using a new and creative way to do so.
It all began when I purchased
an easy (easy being the operative word as I had to do it myself) to assemble
4' x 4' raised bed garden.
Then I found out about using
wood palettes for gardening.
Two years ago, I had a wooden
fence installed around a portion of the yard.
I've used it as a "gate" for my deck but decided
to try this new gardening idea.
Then a friend of mine
scored a second palette for me
at her work.
Here's what I have today:
The raised bed in the back
has tomatoes and a variety of peppers:
red, orange and purple.
The middle section is
flowers...some daisies
and glads.
The front section has two types of lettuce.
A little weed barrier fabric, some dirt
and plants and
we'll have some fresh goodies!
The best part?
NO WEEDS.

I sure would love no weeds. The weeds are working me to death.

My garden (first year) is doing just ok. Stuff came up but not progressing as I hoped. My soil seems rather sandy....next year I'll have to come up with fertilizer or rich dirt to put in it!!
There is nothing better than a vine ripened tomato on my table! ha

Well I'll be you are about the handiest gal we know!! My G-pa planted Early Girl tomatoes. They are advertised to produce fruit in 50 days and they did. The peeps have already had
BLTs and club sandwiches

Hi Jill!! We are now back in town. It has taken me several days to get caught up. We had a great time and you all have such wonderful weather....a little muggy in the afternoon but perfect sleeping weather! Your garden looks great....no weeds....everything is growing...what else could you ask for?:) Enjoy the fruit of your labors!

i hope you do o.k. with the squirrels, they MAY be a problem!!
i've also had trouble with racoons, possums, rabbits, skunks.....you may need a little fence around it!!
i sure do hope it grows well, no weeds is very good!!

Looks like a great garden and better yet if there are no weeds. I spent about 2 hours today weeding a flower bed so you are lucky.
Your garden beds look beaut Jill. There's something about bordering off a space isn't there. I find it so much easier to keep control of everything. So nice to have some home-growns... well done :D)

I wish I had done a raised bed...cause all I do is pull WEEDS!!!!
