Stepping Stones

Some of you may have seen these before
but I have been asked to share them again.

Two years ago,
a friend of mine that is talented with
stained glass art,
came and taught me how to make stepping stones.
We sifted, yes, sifted, about 180 pounds of concrete.
Teresa cut the glass pieces
and she and her daughter taught
Becky and I how to place them
in their forms.

These are what was made that day...

They are a lot of work
but so worth it!
Thanks, Teresa.

These are so pretty! I have a kit for one in the basement but we haven't made it yet. Wonder if I could fit all 3 boys' hands on it?

Your stepping stones are very pretty. The only ones I have I bought and they are shaped like Texas.

I bet they make you happy to walk across your garden. Wish I had them in my front yard.

Beautiful! A friend of mine makes these, but I've never tried it. They DO sound like a lot of work!

I have different stepping stones all around my back year to get from one place to another. They were at least $10 a piece!!!!!!!!!

Yours are beautiful - but I have no idea how you made them!!

Beautiful like you!

Those are really nice! I have a kit to make one of those... and boy is the box HEAVY. We didn't have enough glass, so had to put it all back in the box and hold it until we got more stained glass pieces. I thought it'd be fun to do!

Oh my, Jill!

Aren't these just a blast to make!?

Those are beautiful - love the dragonflies.

I have a couple of stepping stone kits that I bought a Michael's a couple of years ago when my cat died...I think we were planning on making stepping stone memorials or something but we never got around to doing them. I think that might be a project for this summer!

Very nice Jill . . . I went to a garden tour once where they had a garden path made of stones such as these that guests made and brought to a 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Lovely to see and great idea . . . are you making more this year?

Jill, that was such a fun day! Lots of work but very fun because of the wonderful company! Anytime you want to make more let me know! I'll show you how to cut and grind the glass. We could even do a bird bath. I've always wanted to do one of those ;-)

Thanks for reposting these. Jill, I love your garden art for outside. I imagine it really adds a lot of personality to the garden space. I am still lacking in that department....I'm slowly making changes....but let me repeat that again....slowly:) It all costs money and people like to steal so I have to thief proof it all. Have a great Saturday!!
