More Counting Down...Does It Ever Stop?

A sea of Anemone

Every spring,
I look forward to my Anemone's
opening.
They never fail to thrill me.

I'm glad I took this shot the other day.
We're under a flash flood warning
so who know's if they'll
still be there later today.

Speaking of today,
one week from today is the last
day of school!
Yes!  The girl
is excited!
She'll have to go in
for 2 hours the day
after the last day
 for commencement practice.

I've been a big blob of emotions the
past two weeks.
Yes, she'll still be living at home
for (at least) a few more years.
Yes, I am VERY happy
to be out of this school.
However,
there are key people
that are really, truly good people
and I will miss them more than I can say.
It seems I'm bursting into tears at the drop of a hat.

I would imagine all of you Moms can relate.
A lot of our lives won't change directly.
But indirectly, it's a ton of changes.

So for today,
for anyone struggling
with changes,
I wish you luck and strength.
And...
a really BIG bottle of Calgon
to take you away.
Hey,
even if you're not struggling,
a good bubble bath
does a body good!

What a precious post about your sweet Daughter. So many new and exciting things for her that you can enjoy through her eyes.
It will be good to have her for a 'roommate' for a few more years.

Beautiful flowers! I have 2 going off to college in Aug...1 will be going to Missouri (out of state) and our Son will be going to a college about 6 hours away...it's always tough to see them go.

I know exactly how you feel Jill. I had my oldest move into her grandparents since her school is near them and my youngest moved 4 hours away with her Dad to attend the college over their. Although I am happy for them to be attending college, I miss them dearly.
you are lucky in a way, since your daughter will be staying home with you for the next few years.
Have fun with the bubbles.

There is something symbolic about those Anemones. I bought three little Dixie cups with one in each. It was the spring of 1993. Look how far and wide they have spread. Just like our girls reaching out and spreading their wings. Ah, wish I was better at expressing my thoughts but you probably get my drift :-)

The flowers are beautiful.

Congratulations to your daughter. It has been a long time ago but I will never forget the day my daughter left for university. I just stood in the room and cried. I do understand the emotion you are experiencing.

Jill, I can relate!
My daughter graduated a week ago and I have this overwhelming feeling of "what now?" blahs. She isn't planning on leaving soon, she wants to go to the local community college for a couple years (and I hope and pray she does just that) I can't imagine life with her not in my house, but I know someday she will move out and on with her life...
let's cry together.
Hugs

You've such a kind heart Jill... yes, we can relate. Life goes on, stage after stage - each stage brings its own happiness... fortunately! xx
