are howling
the clouds are overhead
and baby it's cold outside!
It doesn't stop the birds though,
my feeders are filled to capacity,
as is the bath...
and hundreds more await their turn,
while sitting on the ground
or in the trees.
Dear little goldfinch getting his turn,
while the red bellied woodpecker
munches away.

Very pretty photos. I know they are grateful for the food and water.
Hey Jill, Sorry I have not comented on your blog, but my mom is back in the hospital. Hopefully this time around they will find what is wrong with her. She is in ICU having more blood transfussions and having a serious of test done. I was not able to see her yesterday, because I was sick with a stomach flu. Thank goodness I am feeling better this morning. I am headed out to the hospital, but did not want to neglect my blogging friends. Loved your friendship post. Thank you for opening up your life on your blog to us followers.
Thank you for all your post, good, bad, funny, sad, they are all great.

It's 0 this morning with a brisk north wind -- I really need to fill my feeders today!
You have such a nice variety of birds, Jill. :)

Oh yes, brrrr! Wind chill factor here at this moment is minus 19 degrees. Now you've nudged me to get up off my rocker and go out and top off the bird feeders ;) It's all good, though, because how dull life would be without our little feathered friends keeping us company all winter. Have a lovely day!
We've got those same howling winds in Iowa, too!
I love seeing the bird photos. I especially enjoy that "redhead" you captured in photos!
Such beautiful crispy-clear photo's, on such a cold cold day. (but I love it)
Great pictures, Jill...I have wanted a bird feeder for years but J.D. says he doesn't need any more mouths to fill, ha! Seeing your pics makes me think I will find the $$ to feed my little friends. :) Stay WARM today!!! Can't believe it's -32 wind chill...
so glad you're helping the birdies! :)
Has gotten a bit colder here but at least no snow! Love seeing all the birds and feeders. Reminds me that I need to go chip out the ice and give them some fresh water!
Looks cold! ;)
So nice you still have so many birds and such colours!! Ours seem to disappear..although I have seen a chickidee and thought I heard a Medowlark...when seems a bit early for here...especially now that it has turned so cold.
Great pictures as usual...and it looks like your birds have a very nice buffet line to keep them fueled up for the cold weather.
Hugs Madi and Mom
Love all the bird activity. Hugs! Bonnie
I love the finches best I think. You have quite a bird population!
Looks like it might be a wee bit chilly, but I can see some sunshine there. Pretty birds feeding at your feeders.
I so enjoy watching the birds and seeing the great pictures people like you take of them! I hope you've enjoyed your day!
Thanks for reminding me to put out some birdseed even though we're having warm weather again. Good week-end to you Jill.
Great shots I wish I didn't have to go to work. I would just love to hangout and take pictures all day :)
Great pics as usual Jill! Love the first two and the GoldFinch! : )..
Awesome wind-chime shot Jill!
You make it sound "really" cold there! Love the cloud filled sky shot and, of course, the shots of that cute little woodpecker are awesome. Have a great weekend. Mickie :)
beautiful! It is pretty cold here too...woke to new snow draped over the tree boughs.
Jill, I love your winter header! It made me smile. Look at that colorful little bird at your feeder. Sure does brighten up winter. I wish I had a bird feeder. Nice photos!!
I have my parents to thank for my love of birds and bird watching. They always kept a bird feeder and bird bath. I wish I had a better lens for taking pictures of birds. Great post.
Such beautiful pictures! It's cold here also. We're expecting snow tonight into tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it! Enjoy your day!
It is bitter here.,maybe some of the snow you are getting today will be here in a couple of hours...I'd love it!
Stay Warm...
