Counting Down

I found what I think is a really
fun way to count
down to Christmas.
I think this was a Martha Stewart idea
and I just had to copy it.

I'm sorry I didn't post this sooner but
I couldn't let certain people see it until
they could open it on December 1.
I did a set for my sister and brother in law,
one for TJ and of course, one for Becky.

These are old fashioned candy bags
each labeled 1-24 and each
containing a little gift or treat for the day.
Those are little bitty clothes pins holding them
to the line.

This advent calendar was given
to me last year for Christmas
and I am just crazy about it!
In fact, I ended up ordering
three of them for a friend
that wants one and to gift 2
and 2 more for me to gift
(one back to my sister).

It has VERY strong magnets on the back
and stays on the refrigerator perfectly.
Each magnet is a cookie!

While trying to find a place
to order this,
I learned a lot of people
make their own with their own
cookie sheets.  That would be fun too!

Do you have a special way to count
down to Christmas?

Super cute. Love the old fashioned candy bags. I do not have a calendar. I have my girls that remind me, actually my 20 year old does.

I have a handmade advent calendar packed away which I used every year when my girls were younger. It's made of fabric and quilted. The ornaments are made of felt, all different.

In our home we've used all kinds of event calendars and the like.

In the classroom we did use the candy bags a couple years. It was great as long as we had a 'small' group.

God bless ya and have a marvelous day sweetie!!!

I love the idea of the striped bags with treats. The cookie sheet advent calendar complete with "cookies" is sweet too. Hope you have a great day Jill.

That is cute! Our traditions for counting down go something like..."No you can't open one today" every single day, lol!

I love the cute little bags. And, the cookie sheet would be really cute to make!

We don't count down - did it when the kids were little and when they lived close, but this year is a little lighter in most decorations!

Love seeing what everyone is doing!

Blessings,
Donna

My mom made a big angel with 25 pockets and in each pocket she handmade an item. The last being baby Jesus.
