Autumal Winds

In typical Minnesota
fashion,
we went from 81 degrees
on Wednesday to
61 degrees on
Thursday.
What made it unique
though was the wind.
It held steady most
of the day but occasionally
offered gusts of in excess of 45 mph.

If you don't know, by now,
I live amid 100's of pine trees.
Look closely at the picture below:

Check out my screen door:

The next ones went right through the screen:

A small portion
of what's covering my deck.

Poor little oak tree
almost blew away.

No harm.  No foul.
Just a nuisance.
Tolerable,
thanks to these:

And especially
to these:

Doesn't get much better!

Do the birds holler high in those pine trees? Bet those pine needles could almost be a weapon with the high wind. It must be very pretty there.

We have a very windy day here, ourselves and we've had a big temp drop. Feels a lot more like autumn today than yesterday did!

I like your pictures, especially that last one! Pretty!

Great pictures...with winds like that pine needles become flying projectiles....wear goggles outside.
It is 80 today but by tomorrow it will hardly reach 60. Must be some of your air coming this way.

Do you use pine needles to mulch in winter? They really are my favorite. If you have azaleas the pine needles will supply the acid for the most beautiful blooms. Lovely tree. Bonnie
