Pretties

We have cooled off here (thankfully).  Although, they are saying this week-end is bringing with it killer heat again.  I'm just happy to have a momentary reprieve.  I hope you are too, or at least, finding some way to stay cool!

Just had to take a walk out amid the gardens today to check on things.  Here is what I found:

Hello Stella!
(as in D'Oro)

Long time no see,
Liatris.

Happy to see you ready to bloom,
Prairie Smoke.

More day lilies...
this time on parade.

A new addition this year,
a pot of succulents.

Last but least,
crowding everything else out
cauliflower.

The heat returned to our area today - in full force.

Love your pictures; I think the succulents are my favorites!

It's gonna be a hot one here in Buffalo this weekend too. Hopefully your flowers are getting enough water so they won't wilt like mine are.

Your gardens are lovely Jill. Thanks for sharing the beautiful flower shots!

Yes, escaping the heatwave today was pure heaven. I am heading for the GrandLoves pool over the weekend tho, in between severe thunder boomers.

Your flowers are lovely. Your Prairie Smoke is what we call Queen of the Prairie. It's native in our lowland drive to the cabin. Love it's pink plumes of fluff. Deer love it too.

Stay cool this weekend. We get the storms from the west about 3 hrs. after you.

It's so hot here lately, that many of my flowers are not looking so good. Your garden shots are very pretty. I especially love Stella's. Some of mine are still blooming, but most look like they are done for the season. Stay cool!

We have had a cool down but are supposed to be in triple digits by the weekend again. Oh I am going to melt. Your lilies are beautiful. I grow some too. The easiest of flowers and bloom so much I love them.

Jill your flowers are beautiful. I love the name prarie smoke and was not familiar with it so this is a bonus. It has been miserably hot here too. 100 yesterday with the heat index it hit 105 in some parts of our area.

Light breeze and very pleasant here today.
I'm glad to have Mom hom and I she is working hard to catch up.

So many names for the same thing. What you call Prairie Smoke, we call Queen of the Prairie. It's a beautiful plant. :)

I always like to stroll through gardens. Since I am not one that has a good eye for what makes a good combo—I get them from you guys.

I’m going to peek around your blog.
