Making Cookies

We've been swimming,
roasting hot dogs and smores, grilling
and crafting.

It's not enough.
The 'kids'
want to bake cookies together.

Here's what it sounds like:

Son:  Do we have flour?
Daughter:  Yes.
Son:  Do we have eggs?
Mom: Yes.
Son: Do we have sugar?
Daughter:  Yes.
Son:  Do we have salt?
Mom:  Yes, we have everything to make cookies or we wouldn't have started to bake.
Son:  OK.
Sister:  I love having a brother to bake cookies with me.
Brother:  Yes. Right!
Mom:  You'll need to get the cookie sheets out.
Son:  What's a jelly roll pan?
Mom:  A cookie sheet.
Son:  OH!
Son: All you can eat cookies tonight.
Sister: OK
Son:  I don't think that's a good idea.  We'd be sick.
Sister: Yea.
Sister:  I need more dough brother, you took it all.
Brother:  You have enough silly!
Sister:  I'm quick as a monkey.  I'll help you, brother.
Brother:  Don't we have to spread 'em?
Brother:  Is the dishwasher clean?
Sister:  There ya go.  We can have cookie dough.
Brother:  Don't smack me!
Sister:  No!

Mom:  I'm going outside now....

Patio door flies open:  Do you want the cookies cooked?
Mom:  Well, yes...are they brown?
NO!
Mom:  Then cook them for a little bit more....

Sounds like fun! Kitchen chatter, we don't have that anymore, and we don't get home made cookies anymore either.

Thanks for coming by my blog! Interesting, haven't met many people from MN on the blogs. I, myself, am from Central MN.

Why are the State Parks shut down?

Happy 4th anyway!

Sounds like my house! Although my kids are now getting to the point where they don't want anyone to help them! I have also been trying to introduce them to the concept of washing dishes together - you know, one washing....one drying....totally foreign concept to them for some reason!!!
