For a Monday

For a Monday,
I started out
pretty optimistic.

I even posted this photo
of our beautiful
early morning sky.

Sorry for duplicating,
but it was the best part of the day.

As most of you know,
I love to spend
time with
with my Dear,
John Deere.

Today didn't start so
well though.
I came across a dead
bunny in my yard.
I can't tell you
how sad this made me.

I continued to mow,
even though the temps
were sweltering,
even in the morning hours.

It's so hot,
my project
that I had to use
Liquid Nails on,
refuses to set.

It's so hot,
my oven decided
to quit working.

It's so hot,
I have to water,
and when I use sprinklers,
I end up
wetter than most
of my plants!

It's so hot,
the dog doesn't
even want to
be out.

On the up side,
the last few lilacs
and the new
blossoms on
the spirea,
have perfumed
the summer air
like only they can.

Another plus,
pizza delivery!

Tomorrow's going
to be hotter.
I wonder what it will
bring!

Jill, It was a scorcher here today as well. We just have to get through the next couple of days of heat and then cooler weather, ahhhhh. Tomorrow's forecast is upper 90s and we just discovered this evening that our A/C is out! Hope we can get a service call tomorrow.

I think you deserve a yummy ice cream cone Jill! Just one more day and the next few days should be beautiful like the weekend. Stay cool. :)

Jill, I feel your pain. We Minnesota girls don't know what to do with heat, do we? Popsicles....popsicles...popsicles!!!

Is the oven fixable? It sounds like you made the best of it, but be careful when mowing in the heat. They tell us it will be 100 in Rochester today. I am glad I work and live in air conditioning. Love your pictures. I have a bouquet of the Siberian Iris, Mom's peonies, purple iris and spider wort on my desk. It's beautiful...thanks to you.

Hi
thanks for stopping by Cottage tails and saying hello. Seems funny you are hot & we have the fire going down here in New Zealand.
Rabbits are cute until they eat my garden.

Love Leanne
