Glass Fusion

The other day,
a friend and I actually got to spend
some time together.
We often chat on the phone
but rarely get time together.

We knew our time was precious
and wanted to spend it doing
something special.
She found the perfect
thing for us to do for
our treasured few hours.

Not too far from our homes,
lies a wonderful little shop called
They offer ceramics to paint
and glass fusion.
For a small studio fee
and a fee for supplies,
you can sit and paint or
make glass pieces to your hearts content.

On this day,
we wanted to make some necklaces.
They had every color glass imaginable.
In fact,
the process of creation is the easy part,
selecting which glasses to use proved
to be the most difficult part.
All required tools were available
for use
and a lovely instructor
gave us the overview,
set us free
and was available for questions.

See the delicate yet
intense concentration on my friends face?

This piece will be a "donut" necklace.

Playing with colors of a summer
seascape.

An interesting shape.

We left the pieces to bake in the kiln
and will pick them up later in the week.

I'll post pictures of our final
products,
provided they are picture worthy.

Fun! I've been to Lilypad to paint ceramics but I didn't know you could make jewelry. Can't wait to see the finished product!

What a fun way to spend some time with a friend! Those colors are beautiful -they'll be perfect for the summer.
And I love your morning glory header!
