Every year, we Minnesotans find
fun ways to embrace winter.
This year, is the first year,
we've made it to the
Winter Carnival
at Rice Park
in St. Paul.
It was a very mild day
for Minnesota.
Hoar frost covered
the trees as well
as obscured areas of the road.
Yet it was the most
pleasant of days.
Friends rounded out everything
perfectly.
The ice sculptures were nothing less than
phenomenal.
I thought you might like to
see a few
from the comforts of home.
The girls, all set for fun!
Amazing!
Ice Princess Becky
Ice Princess Lindsey
Ice QUEEN Teresa
Coins are actually frozen into the top of this "bar."
Becky's favorite.
Love it!
Incredible!
Fabulous!
So cute!
Darling!
Precious!
Next stop, the Landmark Center.
These were lit with little white lights.
I wish my camera had picked them up.
I LOVED this!
King Boreas
Prince East Wind
We did meet Prince West Wind but I didn't get his picture.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet
Prince North or South Wind.
It was a wonderful first part of our day.
I'll share the rest of it with you tomorrow.

Oh, this reminds me of a few years back when we went to the ice palace. The kids were like 6/8-ish. There was a wall of money where people melted the wall with the heat from their hands and attached coins. My little tykes were sooo excited. I found out they were melting the money FROM the wall and pocketing it. (oops)
I can't wait to hear more tomorrow. Talk about the perfect mini vacation!
Makes me miss Minnesota! I loved going to see the ice sculptures...although we usually only made it down there every few years or so!
