Belly On Up!

As so many of you do,
I enjoy feeding the birds.
Notice, I said "the birds."
Normally,
I refer to them as
"my birds."

I bet you do too! :)

This Red Bellied Woodpecker is a frequent visitor.

I was so happy with this shot
as he's usually perched like this:

He'll eat like this for the longest time.
I get a stiff neck just watching him!

I love feeding the birds. I'd get a stiff neck too.

Do you have any of the tube finch feeders? Get the one with the little holes UNDER the perches. It attracts goldfinch, which eat upside down! Hence, the holes under the perches!

Jill, I have a woodpecker who perches exactly the same. He also likes to let me know he has come in for a visit. So funny!

Great photo Jill. Amazing clarity with that new camera. Don't you love it! Love seeing the actual seed in the mouth before the gulp!

LOL How can he maintain that position! We have a crazy Cooper's Hawk in our backyard. He screams al the time! I think he keeps missing his prey, so I want to feed him or something.

hi Jill! Is it odd to see me modeling my thrifty deals? When we went to each other before I wasn't doing that, huh? Oh well, THANK YOU for loving the shoes. They are a size too big for me but I don't care. I have to tape the back of the left one to keep it from slipping on and off as I step. The right one is fine (but that foot is bigger anyway). LOL

Oh yes, and very cool bird pics. Great!

I truly love woodpeckers. Always have! I haven't seen a red-bellied woodpecker very often around here though. Lovely!

Yes indeedy we do have our own birds too and we are quite sure our food is the best on the block. The hummers are sipping like crazy this year too.
Your red belled Woodpecker is also a contortionist!
Hugs madi your BFFF and Mom

Cute little wood pecker! Love that bird feeder. My little birds ambush the feeders so they spill all over the ground! I guess that way every one gets some! :)
