Girls Weekened, cont.

One of my favorite views and that of many is that of entering Duluth, MN.  Due to the change in elevation, many people endure their ears popping.  It is easy to forget about the annoyance once a view of the shipyards and Lake Superior come into view.

It was a bit windy and hazy on this day but I still adore the view!

Enger Tower

Enger Tower was built in 1935. It is made of Blue Stone from the area.
It is 531' above the level of Lake Superior.
It was dedicated by Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Martha of Norway
to honor Bert Enger, a native of Norway.
Mr. Enger became a very successful furniture dealer
and donated 2/3 of his estate to
the city of Duluth, upon his death.

Yes, we climbed to the top.  It was extremely windy and chilly but it offers lovely views from all level and every window.

A view from the top.

In recent years, they have added a Japanese Garden.
Nothing much is blooming right now
as they are about 6 weeks behind,
yet it is still lovely.

These rocks seem alive to me.

Of course, we rang the gong.
It had a lovely tone.

Enough for today.  More tomorrow!
