100

Last December,
I took on the welcome
task of doing
some
Random Acts of Kindness.
It all began
as a way to honor and remember
the victims
of Sandy Hook Elementary.

I wrote about my December efforts
and reported that
the next goal was to make
a card for each and every
co-worker of mine,
thanking them
for a job well done.

To date,
I have made
92 cards for my
co-workers
as well as
8 cards for nursing home
residents.

No, all 100 are not the same, just these last 4.

This has been a labor of love for me.
As you well know,
I have done this anonymously
(which caused some debate amongst
some of my readers) as I seek
no thanks.
I do it because it makes me feel good.
I have seen the positive affects.
I have seen kindness played
forward,
and that was all I could hope for.
It is a demonstration
to my children.
It is a declaration of who I would like to be.

I recently read a book
called:

A Simple Act of Gratitude:
How Learning to Say Thank You
Changed My Life
by
John Kralik

I accidentally found this book
on my Nook and
am so grateful I did.
His life changed
because he set a goal
and followed it through.
So did I.
While my results may not be as
impressive as his,
doing these Acts have helped me.
Things haven't been so good lately,
but this project has helped me maintain
a proper perspective.

I hope some of you have
been inspired by my efforts.
I truly believe
We CAN make a difference.

It's so wonderful that you're still doing this Jill! Kindness is wonderfully contagious and you are making such a difference by doing this...a greater difference that you probably realize.

We never know when something we say or do to someone makes a huge difference. One thing for sure anything positive is GOOD!!
Every so often you might be around when a card is opened and the recipient smiles. You know you have made a difference.

Now that is inspirational!

Having received one of your cards a couple years ago (the mail swap), I could see how much love you put into making these sweet cards. I still have my little thank you card that you made and I'll keep it for always.

I have written many times on how gratitude changed my whole life - not over night - but it changed me.

I believe what you say and I think it is wonderful what you did.

It seems now days so many people are too busy to even say "thank you". What you are doing is wonderful and especially to people in nursing homes. Thank You Jill for remembering to be kind.

Oh Jill I think this is wonderful you are truly an inspiration to your children and I know you have inspired others. I think it is an important part of all of us and I know I never let a day go by that I have not done something (even from the seat of my chair) for another I think it is extremely important I was raised this way
Way to go Jill. HUGS B.

Oh Jill, you are so right! Especially when it's payed forward. One kind act, leads to another. If only we all did that, it would be a better world. I am so proud of you!
