Proceed With Caution

While sitting on the deck one day,
I noticed the cutest little bird sitting on my grill.
This went on for quite some  time

I turned to enter the house to get my camera
when I heard this terrible noise...
similar to that of nails on a chalkboard.
I quickly spun around to see the poor
little guy sliding/falling off of the grill top...
his little claws desperately trying to cling to the metal.

I kept a watchful eye on him
as Becky ran and got her camera.

We quietly watched
as he made a few moves...

he cautiously made his way across the moss...

and made his way to the bench.

He seemed to approve...

made his way to the top...
and took off.

I'd like to believe
he lived happily ever after!

Hope he's okay. When I went grocery shopping on Saturday, I was leaving Walmart and 2 teen girls were pointing at a little bird on the floor and screaming. He had flown into the doors and was lying there with his little chest huffing. I scooped him up and took him outside and put him under some ornamental grasses. I hope he recovered.

Yes indeed, he only needed a proper runway from which to fly. Much like all of us. Bonnie

Jill,
I would have loved to see this little bird in action. I love birds; very peaceful creatures. I'm glad that you made your pictures big on your blog because now I can see your sweet pictures better.
