Today

Fields of wildflowers
still in abundance,
summer time temps
still dominate the days.

My minds eye
is floating on the lake,
quieting the demands
of daily life.

Red, ripe tomatoes
cling to the vine,
sun flowers rise
to greet the sun.

Alas, night time
pushes summer away
bringing with it
autumn temps.

A nip to the air,
leaves beginning
their early descent
to earth.

Reminders
that fall is coming.
I love the
autumnal months.

But I am not ready
to let go
of the relaxed
days of summer.

But today won't
last forever,
so I will cling
to it and cherish it...

For the gift it is.

Thanks Jill for your nice comment about my little [old] picture. Mom is in the picture too but on the other side of the group. It is a pic of my gramma's family at her 80th birthday party. My grandma is right behind Mary. I loved my Grandma! She lived right next door and was like another mother to me until her death when I was 13. :'( Have a super day!

Good Job Jill.....I loved it.

I just live for summertime. This one has been rough though. The recent cool nights and mornings have been so pleasant but I get sad to think summer is almost over.
