Looking back...an

It escaped me in May.  The realization hit me today.  I've been blogging for over 2 years now.  It's caused me to reflect back on why I began blogging in the first place and to ask myself where I want to go in the future.  The clouds in this post remind me that blogging is as evolving as the changing clouds.

I readily admit the first year was all trial and error.  I was really just learning the basics of blogging.  The formatting, the design, etc.  I was basically writing, from the heart, something I enjoy doing.  It seems it was about what I wanted and I had few followers to prove it.

During the second year, I began finding more blogs that I wanted to follow and gained more followers than I ever imagined.  How perfectly delightful those followers have become.  They lift each other up during rough times, they are generous, they help those in need, they share their lives, they share my joys and struggles.  Without them, I am nothing.

Thanks to many of them, I learned even more.  Yet I still struggled (I am pretty confident I'm not the only one) with figuring out what I thought others wanted from a blog.  Trying to evaluate what "they" wanted to see or read in a blog.  What would prompt "them" to comment on a blog entry.
So I started changing things in an attempt to gain followers and comments.  After all, I value each and every one of them to the bottom of my heart.

I like the way my camera is reflected in this cloud.  It seems so perfect for my time of reflection.  So, here's what I've decided.  I am going to remain a "mixed bag" here.  Some days, it may be all the written word.  Others, maybe pictures and brief commentary.  Other days, it might be crafting.  Yet other days, it may be more internal dialog with myself.  I'm going to be re-posting some of my earlier writings.    Like my life, I can't predict where this blog will go.  I do hope you're up for the ride.  If you're not, I understand.

I can't guarantee it will always be fun but it will hopefully, remain a surprise to what you will find here.

Thanks for the support and love!

As always,
Jill

Jill I have been doing it for six years and I have - what I call - evolved - from who I was to who I am today and I think the blogs show how you change and I think actually think they help you change and grow for the best - they are gifts from God. Sandie

I first started blogging in 2005; my husband was ill and I wanted something to take my mind off things. This was on Windows Live Spaces. They don't allow bloggers anymore; they shipped them all over to wordpress.

Actually, Jill, I think you explained what you think a blog is really about. The mixed bag. I, too, have struggled, in fact the first year, I forgot I had a blog and didn't even post! It has only been the last year, year and a half, that I really started blogging.

I, too, have decided blogging will represent my life. After all, when we have friends over, isn't that what we do, talk about what's going on in our lives over for a cup of tea or coffee?

Good for you - I love your writing, I love your photos, I love hearing about your family, whether it be the happiness or struggles. I guess because I just like you so much, Jill. You are an honest, open and great friend!

Talk to you on the blogs!
Hugs,
Donna

Hi Jill. I have always thought that if you stay true to yourself and blog about what you want to blog about then people will come back again and again because they like YOU. It is always a joy to visit you.

Nice Jill!!! It's true. When I first started to blog, I didn't realize that it would make watching TV disappear. This is way more fun. The experiences we all share together....the meets....the photo experiences....and the education!! It is constantly evolving. The challenge is always to one up the previous works. And it does evolve quite a bit. Mine focused primarily on gardening the first year. But like you say, it's good to give everyone different perspectives from the life around you. Congrats!:) Chris
