Monday

Just a little update today
as Becky is back to school.
Spring break went way too fast.
We shopped, cleaned, had an appointment,
got her hair highlighted for Prom,
saw a movie or three or four, shopped,
and crafted a little.  More
on that in a future post.

Remember the flowers she received for Valentine's Day?
Here she is with them.
In her "hot" pink room.

Soon, it will be
"Beet" as I hope to get
it painted this week.
I've got all of the supplies,
the room is stripped and ready,
now I just need to get my groove on.
One thing I HATE is painting!
I am the worlds worst painter!
I've been single for almost 15 years and I do alright
but I am a bundle of nerves when I have to paint.
And a deep, bright color?  Argh!

Just a pretty picture to leave you with
on this Monday.
I hope it's a good
one for you.

  1. Good Morning,

Beet? Oh, that is going to be hard to cover up when this stage is over!

Have a good day... painting or not!

  4. Too bad I don't live closer. By some freak of nature, I actually enjoy painting. I know, it blows my mind too....totally not like me, lol!

  5. Exactly the shade of a beet? WTG Becky you are a girl who knows her own mind. Can't wait to see it.

  6. Becky looks so pretty . . . pretty smile too. How did the Prom go?

Painting is not my forte', more on me than on the walls. A beet color will be interesting . . . you may still be trying to make it cover this time tomorrow. Good Luck!

  7. Glad to be able to read a post of yours. I was missing them. Wow, her room really is a HOT pink. No kidding. I love pink but I don't see myself painting anything that bright. My step-daughter wanted hers black. I ws like no way Jose. Not here ever. Maybe your moms house. My husband was not going to let it happen either. I mean who wants a black room? Only our young generations today.
Becky looks so sweet holding her flowers. Good for her.
    Have fun painting.

  8. Hi Jill! I love to paint, but I don't think I would enjoy the beet color :) Oh, the things those girls come up with - my oldest daughter once wanted her room walls done in purple :P I'm so glad you posted a picture of Becky - now I can picture her pretty face when you talk about her. Sounds like you had quite a weekend!

Now that is a color I love, but like you I HATE painting walls, if I didn't have to tape off and everything.

  22. Sounds like you two had lots of fun time together! Sweet photo of Becky :)

I can't blame you on painting. I dread it worse than almost anything!

  23. Not a fan of painting either -- but my husband is a lesser fan than I, so guess who get's stuck doing it? :)

    Beet? My, you are brave.

  26. Oh my goodness, Becky - you are one beautiful young lady! Whom ever the lucky gentleman is who will be escorting you will surely feel blessed, with the beautiful new hair - very nicely done, the dress (what we've peaked at!) I hope you know how special your Mama thinks you are - and so do we!

Jill, just think of that red room as an elephant you must eat. Remember how how eat an elephant, one bite at a time? The prep work is half the work! So you are already well on your way - and since the prep work is the yucky part of the work, just figure you already ate the hind end! he he he!

Thanks for leaving us with such a wonderful view of your blue skies! Just beautiful!

    Blessings,
    Donna

  27. I love to paint. It's the easiest, cheapest re-model ever, and can make a huge difference. The best part...If you don't like it, just paint over it (covering beet may take a few coats)haha

  28. Oh, I don't like painting either, mainly because I'm no good at it. hehe I have to give you credit for attempting to paint her room, and a new coat of paint does wonders to a room. I'm glad you and your daughter got to spend so much fun time together.
