A Change of Plans

My Mom and Dad's favorite song was
"What a Difference a Day Makes" which goes like this:
"What a difference a day makes, twenty four little hours..."

It couldn't be truer today!

Before retiring last night,
I snapped these next two photos of the freezing rain that
was landing as I snapped.

According to the weather report,
this was all that was expected
and maybe a FEW flurries in this part of the state.
I arose at my usual 4:45 a.m.
and got Becky up an hour later.
Wouldn't you know it?
Ten minutes later, we got the call
that school was canceled for the day.
Here's my view this morning...

Now this is more like it...

MinneSNOWda!

I'm so happy you live in MinneSNOWda and share your fabulous photos - and that it's already 56-degrees here this morning.

Brrrr....but I'm glad you got a storm. Doesn't it always seem to happen when you aren't supposed to get very much precip? That happens here a lot as well during the summer. Beautiful!

Wow, it really accumulated fast overnight didn't it! It started snowing here last night too, but it didn't stick. I don't know whether to be happy or sad about that!

Isn't it great?! My little 5th grader is on cloud nine today! We're heading out right now to play in the snow - over a foot of snow and still coming down. First snow day we've had in a couple of years.

Wow beautiful I am bracing for that Alberta clipper to get here it is on its way. We are supposed to get a lot of freezing rain.
I love your parents favourite song. I love songs that bring comfort from the ones we love. Enjoy winter Jill, Happy Leap Year Day. B

I'm so completely jealous Jill. Rochester isn't getting a darn thing. Guess I'm gonna have to move north. Wouldn't you think that it wold be north enough just to be in Minnesota. sigh!

It looks like a wintry wonderland. You wanted snow and you got some. Hope you don't have to shovel your way out and are able to stay home nice and warm and enjoy the view outside your windows.

It seems so odd, I don't remember any snow days when I was a kid or when the first batch were kids. I do remember a whole lot of snow. Funny how a person remembers things...

Oh my gosh! You must be in SNOW Heaven! You've been waiting and praying for some snow - so glad you finally have some!

The photos you took of the pine trees are gorgeous! And, I love the one with the ice-sickle hanging down! Beautiful shots!

Don't you just love digital shots? Take a bazillion and find some gems. Of course, most of yours are gems any way, I bet!

Blessings, hope you and Becky have a fun snow day!

Hugs,
Donna
