The Power of Friendship II

We all know how important friends
are in our lives.
The ones that live nearby, call
or whom we can run to when needed.
I wrote about those friends
here.

Today, I'd like to talk about a different kind of friends.
Those that I have never met but
are so important in my life.

At the push of a button,
I get a glimpse into their lives.
Some days they rejoice in success,
others times they seek support.
Many days they share a giggle or two
and take me on a photo journey of a place
or time I could not see if it were not for them.

At the push of a button,
I can read their comments to me.
The power of their words often overwhelm me.
They offer words of support and encouragement,
make me laugh, smile and warm my heart.
The power of the written word never fails
to move me.
They can take an ordinary day and make it extraordinary.
They can take a blue mood and turn it sunny.
They can take that proverbial frown and turn it upside down.

So dear, blogger friends,
please never forget how much I appreciate each and every one of
YOU!
Thank you for sharing your lives with me
and allowing me to share a bit of my life with you.

On another note,
a few of my favorite bloggers are closing down.
While I respect their decisions and the reasoning behind it,
it makes me sad as I feel like I am losing some friends.

Friends.
They come in all shapes and sizes,
and many different forms
and I love them all.

I feel the same way. I would miss the 'social contact' of the blogger world. But for some people it is too much of a time drain - understandable. The nice thing, though, is I am always finding new blogger friends, you included! :)

Wonderful Jill . . . my favorite wake up mode of getting with my day is to grab my iPad and visit with my friends. . . I would be so sad if those I visit each day . . . suddenly decided to "move away" . . .

Don't you do that Jill! I enjoy YOU, your photographs, your insight and your helpful hints, like the water dish you made for your birds. I was out shoveling this morning and thought of you keeping your birds in fresh water!

Snow in your land?

Wonderfully written and so true. My online friends got me through PPD after the twins.

Why are your blogging friends shutting down? :-(

Dear Jill, I agree completely. I could never imagine how comforting and fulfilling blogging would be. It has opened my life to people from around the world. They feel so close though. You really develop friendship. It is a wonderful experience that cannot be explained. Thank you for your friendship. Blessings, Catherine xo

Beautifully said Jill. My husband often remarks how odd it is when I refer to my friend from..... So many, and you are included I feel as much of a closeness as I do to friends I have lunch with. Know you are a special lady to many. Hugs! Bonnie

I agree Jill. Even when I think about not blogging anymore - I know I would still want to follow all the blogs I love - and then want to share too. So, I guess that means not blogging is not really an option.

You said it so well, thanks Jill. I would so miss my new friends I have made this past year if they moved on. Like Bonnie said I'll say you know my friend from..... and my son goes from where? But it's no different then them on FB :)

I totally agree Jill, the blogging community gives us friends who will support us just like friends and family, sometimes even better. I am so glad to be able to blog and help make someone smile that I can't even think about shutting down. I am always sorry to see friends go. We are all glad that you share your life and pictures with us too. We are grateful for your support and glad that we can provide the same to you! Thank you for all that you do.

Just catching up a bit here, Jill, and always come to your blog home and read what I may have missed while away.

I, like many others here, feel the same about you. I love coming to visit, love looking at your wonderful photography showing me a countryside I certainly don't see here in the coastal area of California.

Thank you for your friendship as well!

Blessings,
Donna
