Monday Recap

Monday turned out to have it's
typical Monday blues.

Thankfully though,
I managed to discover some real treasures.

First, I logged onto blogger and discovered
I had won something very special from
a wonderful blogger, friend!

Cindy
from Whimsical Musings
is a fantastic artist and
I was chosen as a winner
of two of her beautiful tags.

I can't thank Cindy enough for sharing her art with me!
Please check her blog out.  She is amazing
and will inspire you!
Thank you, Cindy!

I've been moaning a bit about the lack of snow
here in Minnesota.  Now that Christmas is done,
I'm OK without snow but the brown was
getting to be a little depressing.
That is, until I went for a walk
and found some browns I thought
were beautiful!

A high of 50 degrees is expected today
but ice continues to hang on in this nearby pond.

I found the varying shades of brown
in these trees outlined
and softened the pond gracefully.

On a Monday,
I learned a valuable lesson:
Beauty is always near,
sometimes, I just have to look for it.

That is so true - I find that often looking through the camera lens forces me to see what's around me in a new way. Beautiful browns, Jill!

I totally agree with Lisa, all I need to do is get my camera out and I then can see the beauty that is there.

Those tags are fantastic! How fun that you won two.

I'm with you on the lack of snow. However, all the brown we're having means there's less chance of ice on the roads - and for that I'm happy.

Awesome win, Jill. I know you will put these tags to good use.

And I find, sometimes in winter when it's brown and dingy -- you need to create your own beauty. :)

Jill,
I agree with you! Brown bare trees have quiet beauty. Myriad of shades of brown are exquisite and please the eye of people only who have the eye to see their beauty.
Always lovely, lovely blog!

What a lovely win - congratulations.
I am getting fed up with brown too - role on the spring. This is a lovely shot the white of the ice really brings the trees to life.

I am so happy you won!
Great gift for the new year.
Browns are browns, like I sometimes call brown birds, the dirty brown bird.
All in all I apprecitate all that is around.
If you came here you would see some lush.
Will try to post some, and we have had no rain either.

I'm not a big fan of the browns either, I love the greens of spring. : ).. Those browns though are pretty nice, is that still a little snow by the grass? We haven't had much but there is a chance of some tomorrow night. : )..
