And The Stockings

were hung by
the chimney with care.

Well, not really.
I don't have a fireplace
and therefore no mantle.
So my stockings hang here instead.

I have a confession here.
I found this little hook board
by dumpster diving years ago.
It remains one of my favorite possessions ever!

Anyway, the one stocking with Cupid's
stocking (yes, Santa fills the pet stockings too)
is an original from the 50's.  It's been in the family
all of this time. I just love it.  Santa doesn't fill it
anymore but all of you sure do!

It's a great day to say thank YOU to all of my loyal
followers and commenter's.  YOU brighten my days so much
and I appreciate the time you spend with me.

To all of my new followers,
thank YOU so much for joining my blog.
I look forward to getting to know YOU.

To all of the bloggers that I follow,
thank YOU for sharing a part
of yourself with me.
You teach me so much!

So you see,
I don't really need Santa to fill up that old stocking.
YOU all do it so beautifully!
Thank YOU!

You are so right. Gifts do not have to come in the mail or be purchased. A simple comment is sufficient enough. Thank you as well for all the comments you leave on my blog daily. Very appreciated.
Looking forward to knowing you better as well. I have not gotten tot he post office yet. I should be able to get there this morning if not tomorrow. I have not forgotten you.

(Santa fills our pets stockings, too!)

I love your little hook board.

What is that old saying?
One woman's junk is another woman's treasure! :)

I had a board/coat rack like yours at the last house and it was a great place to hang the pets' stockings.

It has been a joy getting to know you through blogging also. Enjoy these festive days!

Great post! I love all my followers and commenters also! We don't have a fireplace or mantle either so our stockings get hung in the doorway near the tree. It works for us. :)

Dear Jill,

What a blessed thing to read! Thank you so much and thank you for being such a beautiful friend and sharing with us! Every day you post, you brighten my day.

I have a 50's stocking like yours which was my original when I was 1 year old! Precious memories!

Your stocking will be running over long before Christmas morning!

I love it that you got the hook board for free! Super!!

I really believe it's way more fun to give at Christmas than to receive. I think you do too. :))

Great find Jill. Sometimes you can find the best stuff like that. We don't have a fireplace or mantle either, so that's a great idea to hang stockings on. : ).. Looks great!
