How Humid Is It?

It's so humid that:

Upon waking up this morning, all of the windows were covered in fog.

If you wear glasses, they fog up when you go outside.

I don't have any pictures today as the camera lens fogs up.

The squirrels aren't even trying to eat the bird food (a plus, I might add).

My air conditioning has been running all day and it's still 81 degrees in here.

I can't keep the water in the birdbath cool enough for the birds.

It's hard to breath outside.

I've had trouble with the internet all day (I think it's weather related).

It's so humid that the heat index reads...

are you ready for it?

122 degrees.

No wonder I'm crabby!

I hear you! I had the same problem with my glasses today! Ugh. At least our heat index is "milder" at only 110 degrees. Makes me miss living in the southwest!

Incredible!!! Even the bird bath water is HOT! No one is drinking!

Ughhh, heat is one thing, but then add HUMIDITY on top of that! Thank the Lord for A/C, don't know how we survived growing up without it on the farm back in the day. I can't believe it's mid July already....Fall will be here before we know it and next we'll be bracing for snow! (visualizing you on your snow tractor ;D) I actually saw pumpkins/fall decor in the store yesterday!!! Hugs

I don't see how you are standing all that heat! I waited until 8 pm to do some yard work to stay out of the heat. Hope tomorrow is better, Jill.

That's hot and humid!!! But, I'm "right there with you"--Wichita has had 6 straight days of 100+ temperature and this next week is set to go over 100 everyday too. We have had 21 or 22 days of 100+ so far (and it's not even August yet). This is definitely "the long, hot summer". Try to stay cool. Mickie :)

Oh I'm so the HOTS have struck MN too. The 3H's (hot, hazy, humid) are the norm here but we never get used to it. Your first few sentences described us too. It will be 95 here today 99 and 100 the reminader of the week with high heat index.

Hint on keeing the brid bath cool. I subscribe to Birds and Blooms Magazine. A recent issue had hints from readers. One lady wrote in that she saves yogurt and margarine containers then she fills them with water puts them in the freezer. After they are frozen she sits them in the center of her bird bath until the thaw. She said it is amazaing how cool the water gets.
Hope this helps you.

I'm used to it- my hair stays in a pony tail and we live in bathing suits - I run around in bathing suit cover up and flip flops all the time! you have to jump in the pool just to manage to get to the grocery store! lol

(we don't actually have a pool- but we have a nice county pool here- we just join each year- thankfully, it is new and clean!)

good luck jill! I use a soft cloth or T-shirt (or swim suit cover up) to clean my camera- if you breathe hot air on it, wipe, and repeat several times - it should work.

I wash my face with cool water several times a day! It helps a little. We do a lot in early am or eve outside - unless we are in the pool!

crazy! BE CAREFUL-

Jill, oh, it's terrible, too bad!! 122 degree is 50℃. We can’t take even hot bath at 122 degree!
What will go on in August?? I can’t complain summer heat in Japan after hearing about your summer.
Typhoon is approaching Japan. Only good thing about it is the temperature is dropping and it gives us cool wind.
I hope normal summer will come back to your country, Japan and all over the world.

This is getting old, I am sitting here and it is already 82, the windows are all steamed over with humidity, I guess I shouldn't complain at least I have air.
