In the country,
in the wee hours of the night,
when the TV's and radios are off
and most homes sit dark in the night,
there is a quiet to the world,
like no other.
In the stillness of the pines,
a star whispers,
"Make a wish upon me this night
and sleep well
into the morn'.
All is well."
That really is a star, not the moon.

Hey Jill. We had a beautiful full moon last night. It was really beautiful to see all the clouds in front passing by. It seemed like a scary movie night.
ReplyDeleteHappy thursday.
By the way I am anxiously awaiting for the other series of the Prom Drama.
Ana
Yep! The moon sure was pretty last night! Even better tonight I hope!
ReplyDeleteThe moon was incredible the other night! I took some pics myself!
ReplyDeleteDid you sleep well under the moonlight? How is the week going? Are you and Becky finding fun things to do?
ReplyDeleteLovely picture and words.

the moon was a stunner last night!
ReplyDeleteThe moon in the country is MUCH prettier than the moon in the city. Yes, I know it is the SAME moon...just takes on a beauty.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday Jill!
I just love to sit out under the moon and stars on a clear night,it just gives me that feeling of wonderment when I look up at them.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how dark it is in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful!

ReplyDeleteOh Jill,
ReplyDeleteLast night when I saw the full moon, I thought for sure you would have a photo of it today! The star is so bright, reminds me of the "first star I see tonight!"
Have a wonderful day! How's the time off going? Making anything, going on special nature walks?
Have fun,
Blessings,
Donna
It was gorgeous last night, but I knew I would have no luck as usual, so I didn't even try. It is really beautiful out in the country on nights like that. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that beautiful idea and one star
ReplyDeleteSweet!!!

I'm glad it's a star and not a comet:) I love that part of night as well...the stillness and quiet of it all.
ReplyDeleteLovely post and I like the star picture :)
ReplyDeleteI love the poetry and the star to wish upon! :)
ReplyDeleteAll is well - nothing better than that!
ReplyDeleteI really like your words Jill, they spoke to me (if you know what I mean) :))
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the stillness of the night that is lit by a full moon. You sure don't get that in the city, do you?
ReplyDeleteMy camera wouldn't even notice a star, that is awesome. I loved the poem!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot, Jill!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comments on the wedding. Really nice photo and words--you are so right-nothing like night in the country. The stars are always so bright and one can see so many more. One of the great things about living in the country! Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for telling us. I thought an owl was winking.
ReplyDeleteI must have missed the moon last night. sandie
ReplyDeleteClouds have been blocking our view of the moon and stars this week... its suppose to rain all weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe country sky is so much better than the city view.
Hey Jill, yep my hubby called me and said get outside the moon is huge. Love the poem
ReplyDeleteA lovely post, Jill. And what a magnificent night sky you must have, that a star should shine so big and bright.
ReplyDeleteI keep trying to get good pics at night, but never seem to catch the ones that I want. Great shot of a star though. : )..
