Getting My Groove Back?

The alarm was set for 5:00 a.m, once again.
I arose at 4:30 a.m.
Perhaps it was post holiday excitement.

You see, it's the first day in 11 days
that I've had a moment alone.
The boy left last Wednesday.
The girl went back to school today.
I LOVE having my kids home.
I REALLY do.
But between a little company or
going to visit others,
I've not had a moment of peace.

And I discovered something.
I NEED a little piece.
I ran between my kitchen and eating area
at least 113 times yesterday.
Not so unusual except
I had NO idea what I was doing or why I was doing it! ha!

So this morning,
after the bus left at 6:45 a.m.
I did something wild!

I paid the bills.
In silence!
I got the sheets in the washer.
In silence!
I had a phone conversation.
With NO interruptions!
I cleaned the cat box.
In silence!
I found my camera again.
In silence!
I blogged again.
In silence!

Yes, it's true.
By 2:00 I'll be looking forward to the bus bringing the girl
back home.
But for now.
I'm just trying to
Get My Groove Back!

Do you have your groove back?

Haha! Sometimes you just need a little peace and quiet to recharge before the next wave of "busy busy busy!"

I can totally relate to what you are saying. Sometimes silence is golden :))

LOL, my batteries are running on low too and lights are dimming in my head.
It IS time to recharge as Sonya says.
So cold this morning waking also at 4:30 a.m. to minus 11 degrees...stoked the fire, made coffee, cuddling under a quilt all cozy, in silence.
Loved this entry...thanks always for stopping and commenting kindness.

Yep got mine back and the silence is golden cleaning Susie's litter box. That girl can be stinky at times.

Good for you, I always have quiet time. I have my kids away and only come home once a year. Either for Thanksgiving or Christmas. The summers the youngest works as a nanny and if not goes on missionary trips. She wants to become a missionary. I think she is nuts but if that is what God wants her to become than so be it. The oldest lives her own life and comes over whenever she wants. her visits are very unexpected, just random. She lives her life that way. So I respect her life.
As I mentioned I have lots of alone time. Sometimes too much and really miss the background noise. So those days which really aren't many I turn on the radio.
Enjoy your quiet time.

You will get your groove back or find a new one. Sometimes a change is good.

Hey may I make a suggestion - I don;t know if it is my computer or my eyes - but your comments are very hard to read for me.

LOL Jill your post reminds me of what a friend said to me years ago when I asked how she was coping with her twin 5 year old girls being in Kindergarted....she quickly replied...I can actually hear my dishes draining. I'll never forget that.

Silence is wonderful!

Jill, I have trouble reading your comments on your blog. The gray letters on gray don't show up. I can read the white letters fine. Just thought I would let you know. Have a great day!

So sweet - and yes, sometimes we do need that silence! While it's only Don and I here at home. When the children and grandchildren come or I go over there to visit, it's always so good to get that me time!

I always have my sweetie, but he works in his office down the hall, and I'm all over the rest of the house and yard - he he he! Then I find I need my "kid fix" and go visiting or them come here!

Enjoy your "Sounds of Silence"!!

Blessings,
Donna

Dear Jill, I Do Not!! have my groove back!! I definitely am working on it. I am trying to get it back in the worst way. My life has been upside down for a while now. I am in the middle of a divorce, after 30 years!) yes, I know. It is coming along though and I will survive and so will my family. I feel like Rocky Balboa! I am getting stronger everyday and getting my groove back.

Lol. If you forget why you went to another room, according to Bill Cosby, sit down. There is a button on your backside that immediately reminds you what you were about to do! : ).. (Not guaranteed to work. Attempt at your own descrection and peril. Lol.) Good luck!

I never really lost my groove -- it just got misplaced for a couple of days! :)
